Boys roundup: Silverado edges Green Valley to take tri-meet

Aeneas Davis won the 300-meter hurdles and high jump Wednesday to lead Silverado’s boys track team to victory in a three-team meet at Green Valley.

Davis won the hurdles in 44.83 seconds and cleared 5 feet, 4 inches to win the high jump.

Ryan Wurtz won the 200 (23.3), finished second in the 400 and ran on the winning 400 relay team for the Skyhawks, who had 89 points. Green Valley was second with 86, and Lake Mead had 11.

Omar Aguilar Espinoza won the 800 (2:15.22), was second in the 1,600 and third in the 400 for Silverado. Devin Bossie won the triple jump (43-4½) and was second in the long jump for the Skyhawks.

Green Valley’s Brayden Miller won the 1,600 (4:53.4) and finished third in the 800 and 3,200. Kenneth Gorre won the long jump (19-5) and was second in the pole vault for the Gators.

Cougars win home meet

At Coronado, Dillon Stewart and Keaton Daniel each won an individual event and ran on the winning 400 relay team to lead the Cougars to victory in a three-team home meet.

Stewart won the 100 in 11.4, and Daniel cleared 13-0 to win the pole vault.

Andrew Burdalski won the long jump (19-8¾) and was third in the 400 for Coronado, which had 100 points. Foothill was second with 62, and Eldorado had 16.

Coronado’s Tom Dougherty won the 800 in 1:59.01, the best time in the state this season.

Victory Pampuch won the shot put (40-6), discus (119-0) and high jump (5-6) for the Falcons.

Mojave rolls to home win

At Mojave, Devinn Houston won two individual events and ran on a winning relay team to lead the Rattlers to victory in a four-team meet.

Hosuton won the long jump (18-9) and triple jump (40-6½) and ran on the winning 400 relay team for Mojave, which had 139½ points.

Virgin Valley was second with 91½, followed by Western (14) and Indian Springs (8).

Noah Thompson won the 100 (10.7) and 200 (22.1), and James Fincher was first in the 1,600 (4:51.1) and 3,200 (10:13.8) for the Rattlers.

Mojave’s Isaiah Harper won the 110 hurdles (16.2), finished second in the 300 hurdles and third in the 200.

Centennial dominates Cimarron

At Centennial, Kaden Bayne swept the throws as the Bulldogs beat Cimarron-Memorial, 125-20.

Bayne won the shot put with a throw of 42-8½, and had a mark of 108-10 to take the discus.
