ROUNDUP: Foothill boys, girls sweep Southeast freshmen/sophomore meet
Host Foothill won six events on the way to a first-place finish Saturday at the Freshmen/Sophomore Roundup boys track meet.
Foothill scored 165 points, topping Silverado (101) and Green Valley (98).
The Falcons got victories from Kyle Keplinger in the 100-meter dash (11.8 seconds), James Henderson in the 400 (54.4), Brian Marshall in the 1,600 (5:01.4) and Scott Stigger in the high jump (5 feet, 4 inches). Foothill also took the 400 relay (44.7) and 1,600 relay (3:47.2).
Liberty’s Zachary Sanchez won the 110 hurdles (17.5) and 300 hurdles (44.3), and teammate Jordan Kapeli took the shot put (45-8) and discus (130-10).
GIRLS
Foothill won four events on its own track Saturday on the way to a first-place showing at the Freshmen/Sophomore Roundup girls meet.
The Falcons racked up 145 points, topping Basic (129), Liberty (110), Silverado (105), Coronado (59) and Green Valley (57).
Foothill got wins from Steffani Stokes in the 3,200-meter run (13 minutes, 33.7 seconds), Na’Koie Wilbon in the long jump (14 feet, 5 inches) and Courtney Rogers in the discus (71-4). The Falcons also took the 3,200 relay in 11:02.
Basic’s Kamisha Richardson won the 100 (13.0) and 200 (27.1). Liberty’s Adwoa Fosu took the 400 (1:00.9) and triple jump (31-8 ).
