Arbor View wins boys and girls titles at Richard Lewis Invitational

Madison Christian won both throwing events Friday to lead Arbor View’s girls track team to an easy victory in the 10-team Richard Lewis Invitational at Overton.

Christian took the shot put with a throw of 36 feet, 4 ½ inches, and the discus with a mark of 88-2 for Arbor View, which finished with 266 points. Sunrise Mountain was second with 89 points, followed by Las Vegas (88), Valley (80) and Virgin Valley (61).

Arbor View’s Danica Hammond cleared 5-4 to win the high jump and was second in the 100-meter hurdles (17.22 seconds) and 300 hurdles (51.76).

Virgin Valley Taylor Bryant won the 100 hurdles (16.89) and pole vault (10-1). She also finished third in the 300 hurdles (51.77).

In the boys meet, Quamaree Harris won three events to help Arbor View’s boys track team take the title with 182 points.

Harris won the long jump (20-½), high jump (6-2) and triple jump (41-8¼) for the Aggies.

Las Vegas was second with 156 points, followed by Valley (124), Sunrise Mountain (88) and Moapa Valley (45).

Las Vegas’ Elias Miller took the 100 (11.06) and 200 (22.29) and ran on two winning relay teams.

Valley’s Niko Christian won the 110 hurdles (16.44) and 300 hurdles (42.74) and was second in the triple jump (40-7).
