Gibb helps Aggie girls win Liberty Invitational
Kaitlin Gibb won two individual events Saturday to help Arbor View’s girls track team capture the Liberty Invitational.
Gibb cleared 11 feet to win the pole vault and finished first in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.56 seconds.
The Aggies had 164 points to easily take the team title. Liberty was second with 124½, followed by Silverado with 99.
Silverado’s Mikayla Kelley won both the long jump (16-8½) and triple jump (36-9) and finished third in the 100.
Liberty’s Amy Vaiao was first in the shot put with an effort of 34-9 and took second in the discus.
Valley’s Esmerelda Tenorio won the 100 in 12.46 and finished second in the 200.
In the boys meet, Silverado’s Matthew Arnold won two individual events and took second in another as the Skyhawks won the team title.
Arnold won the high jump by clearing 6-5 and took the triple jump with a distance of 47-4½. He was second in the long jump.
Silverado scored 170 points. Liberty was second with 131, and Las Vegas took third with 90½.
Liberty’s David Washington won the 110 hurdles in 15.24 and the 300 hurdles in 39.62.
Las Vegas’ Tre James was first in the 100 in 10.81 and the 200 in 21.1.
