GIRLS TRACK: Gorman defeats Desert Oasis

Devyn Rosenbverg and Gwenavere Bobowicz each won two individual events and ran on the winning 400-meter relay team Tuesday to lead Bishop Gorman’s girls track team to an 87-54 home win over Desert Oasis.

Rosenberg won the 100-meter dash in 12.81 seconds, and took the 200 in 27.46. Bobowicz won the long jump with a mark of 16 feet, 6 inches, and took the triple jump with a leap of 33-9.

Jill McPherson-Kellogg added wins in the shot put (33-0½) and discus (112-10) for the Gaels.

Desert Oasis’ Jillian Kieffer won the 800 (2:41.95) and ran on the winning 3,200 relay team.

Grizzlies take three-team meet

At Spring Valley, Isabella Iacob and Vaden Mangler each won two events to lead the host Grizzlies past Bonanza and The Meadows.

Iacob won the 800 (2:48.85) and long jump (14-8), and Mangler won the high jump (4-8) and triple jump (28-9½) for Spring Valley, which had 97 points. Bonanza was second with 45, and The Meadows had 30.

Myra Tadytin won the discus (88-5) and was second in the shot put for the Grizzlies, and teammate Hermon Mebrahtu won the 1,600 (6:25.3) and was second in the 800.

The Meadows’ Ellen Hirsberg won the 200 (27.31) and 400 (1:00.78).
