GIRLS TRACK: Middleton, Thelaner lead Trojans past the Chargers

Kelbie Middleton and Stefanie Thelaner each won two events Tuesday to help Pahrump Valley’s girls track team to a 77-65 win over visiting Clark.

Middleton won the 100-meter dash in 12.7 seconds and the 200 in 26.4. Thelaner took the 1,600 in 6 minutes, 13 seconds and the 3,200 in 13:22.

The Chargers’ Marisa Black swept the hurdles, winning the 100 in 18.6 and the 300 in 53.8.

Cowboys top Bulldogs

At Pahrump, Linda Sue Luchsinger and Kurshawnna Price each won two events to help Chaparral to a 77-65 win over Virgin Valley.

Luchsinger won the 800 in 2:51 and the 1,600 in 6:11. Price took the 100 in 13.8 and the 200 in 27.9

The Bulldogs’ Kaitlyn Frump won three events, posting a mark of 13 feet, 5¾ inches in the long jump and taking the 3,200 (14.37) and the 100 hurdles (18.8).

Rams top Wildcats

At Las Vegas, Miracle Blalark was the lone double-winner in Rancho’s 82-57 victory over the Wildcats.

Blalark won the shot put in 33-7 and also took first in the discus in 118-8.

Arbor View downs Sierra Vista

At Sierra Vista, Jocelyn Jordan and Madison Christian each won two events to help Arbor View to a 116-30 win over the Mountain Lions.

Jordan had a distance of 16-0 to win the long jump and 35-8 to take the triple jump. Christian swept the throws, with a 35-3 effort in the shot put and a 94-2 throw in the discus.

Sierra Vista’s Sydney Land won the 200 in 25.59 and the 400 in 1:01.79.

Liberty holds off Basic

At Basic, Ashlie Blake and Gifty Nkansah each won two events as Liberty beat the Wolves, 80-62.

Blake won the shot put (47-5) and discus (143-1), and Nkansah won the 100 (13.2) and 200 (27.7).

Basic’s Tristan Radley won the 100 hurdles (15.3) and 300 hurdles (49.0).
