ROUNDUP: Bond, Skyhawk girls cruise past Dragons
Diamond Bond won two events to lead Silverado’s girls track and field team past visiting Del Sol on Monday.
Bond won the long jump at 16 feet, 1¼ inches, and the triple jump at 32-10 as the Skyhawks scored 99½ points to down the Dragons (39½).
Del Sol’s Angela Johnson won the 100-meter hurdles in 17.8 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 55.58.
Daniels leads Miners to victory
At Eldorado, Rochelle Daniels won two events to lead Sunrise Mountain to a 72-51 victory over the host Sundevils.
Daniels won the shot put (29-2) and discus (76-0).
Lions top Trailblazers, Warriors
At Durango, Phallen Nelson, Jamie Mejia and Cortney Miller each won two events to lead Calvary Chapel (60 points) past Durango (55) and Western (49).
Nelson won the 100 in 13.2 seconds and the 200 in 27.0, and Mejia took the 100 hurdles in 19.8 and the 300 hurdles in 1:02.
Miller won the shot put at 30-1 and the discus at 105-2.
Durango’s Virginia Salazar won the 800 in 2:44 and the 1,600 in 5:57.9.
Gators sweep relays, top Basic
At Basic, Green Valley won all four relays and all three distance races on the way to an 89-53 win over the Wolves.
Basic’s Iris Munguia won the 400 (1:06.9) and triple jump (25-11), and teammate Tori Foutz won the 100 hurdles (18.2) and 300 hurdles (51.6).
