Roundup: Capps leads Foothill girls to victory in four-team meet
Emily Capps swept the throwing events Thursday to lead Foothill’s girls track team to victory in a four-team meet at Basic.
Capps threw 102 feet, 9 inches to win the discus and finished first in the shot put with an effort of 29-9. The Falcons finished with 100 points. Basic was second with 70, followed by Laughlin with 33 and Lincoln County with 4.
Foothill’s Erica Schulz won the 400-meter dash in 1 minute, 6.5 seconds, and teammate Makenzie Flynn won the 800 in 2:53.57. Both ran on the winning 3,200 relay team.
Basic’s Keonna Richardson won the 100 in 13.36 and the 200 in 27.93.
Laughlin’s Alex Miller won the 100 hurdles in 18.5 and ran on the winning 400 relay team.
Eldorado wins home meet
At Eldorado, Mohn’Ai Roberson won three individual events and ran on a winning relay team to lead the Sundevils to a win over Las Vegas and Rancho.
Roberson won the 100 hurdles (14.76), long jump (17-8) and triple jump (36-11) and ran on the winning 400 relay team for Eldorado, which had 74 points. Las Vegas (60) was second and Rancho (37) third.
LaDavia Pierson won the 100 (11.63) and 200 (25.15) and ran on the winning 400 relay team for the Sundevils.
Las Vegas’ Giselle Lopez took the 1,600 (6:47.0) and 3,200 (14:38.0).
