ROUNDUP: Norris, Mathews pace Silverado girls in home win

Amari Norris and Aliyah Mathews won two events apiece to lead Silverado’s girls track and field team to a home victory in a three-team meet Tuesday.

Silverado won with 80 points, followed by Coronado with 75 points and an Australian team with 22 points.

Norris won the 100-meter hurdles in 16.6 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 50.8.

Mathews took the 100 in 13.1 seconds and the 200 in 28.3.

Gray, Jackson lead Desert Shields to victory
At Cheyenne, Jasper Gray and Brittney Jackson each won two events to lead the Desert Shields to victory in a three-team meet.

Cheyenne won with 74 points, followed by Mojave with 43 and Pahranagat Valley with 1.

Gray took the 800 in 2:48 and the high jump at 5-0. Jackson won the shot put at 36-6 and the discus at 114-10.

Mojave’s Korizza Thomas won the 100 in 13.1 seconds and the 200 in 28.1, and teammate Kationa Baughman won the 100 hurdles in 18.5 and the 300 hurdles in 50.7.

Adams paces Gators in win
At Desert Pines, Alex Adams won the 200 (27.1), placed second in the 100 (13.6) and ran on the winning 400 relay team as Green Valley won a tri-meet with 113 points.

Moapa Valley (37) was second, and Desert Pines (32) third.

Moapa Valley’s Emily Mills won the 800 (2:37.1) and 300 hurdles (49.9).

Desert Pines’ Raynette Hines won the 100 (13.1) and 400 (1:06.2).
