ROUNDUP: Heron, Arbor View boys outlast Wildcats

Chris Heron had 39 assists and 11 digs to lead Arbor View’s boys volleyball team to a 20-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-17, 15-9 victory over visiting Las Vegas.

Sam Buckels added 13 kills and four blocks for the Aggies, who got 12 digs from Gage Lujan.

T.J. Esporsa led Las Vegas with 14 kills and 16 digs. Blake Burgess added 12 kills for the Wildcats.

Palo Verde 3, Green Valley 2 — At Palo Verde, Andrew Weston had 39 assists and eight digs to lead the Panthers to a 25-20, 22-25, 25-27, 25-16, 15-5 victory over the Gators.

Mitchell Tingy had 14 kills, and Rich Ryerson added 11 kills for Palo Verde.

Jake Johnson paced Green Valley with 23 kills, three aces and two blocks.

Kenan Haywood added seven kills for the Gators, who got 29 assists and two blocks from Arvin Nitollana.

Basic 3, Western 0 —
At Basic, Taylor Dyer supplied six aces and five assists to lead the Wolves to a 25-22, 25-20, 25-21 sweep of the host Warriors.

Darin Klein and Dale Laulu each posted four kills for Basic.

Braeden Smith had seven assists, and Kaulen Buckley added six kills to lead Western.

Eldorado 3, Mojave 1 —
At Eldorado, Joey Barnhurst had 35 assists and four aces for the Sundevils in a 25-19, 23-25, 25-17, 25-19 win over the Rattlers.

Teammate David Tran had 14 kills and 17 digs, and Dakota Schultz added 13 kills.

Darryl Miller-Green had five kills and 10 blocks for Mojave, which got 18 digs from Lemuel Dyck.

Silverado 3, Bonanza 0 —
At Bonanza, Curtis Hadland had 13 kills and three blocks to lead the Skyhawks past the Bengals, 25-11, 25-21, 25-20.

Shawn Steckel had 24 assists, and teammate Bryan Skworzec added 10 digs for Silverado.

Adam Puckoris had 18 digs to lead Bonanza. Kavanaugh Buck added seven blocks, and Andrew Jensen had five kills and two blocks for the Bengals.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Durango 0 — At Cimarron, Taylor Larsen had 30 assists, five digs, four kills and two aces for the Spartans in a 25-20, 25-18, 25-22 victory over the Trailblazers.

Kyle Henriksen had 16 kills and seven digs, and Salvador Garcia had 10 kills, three blocks and two aces for Cimarron, which got seven kills, two aces and four digs from Efrain Armbiz.

Pedro Abrego led Durango with 27 assists. Paris Estrada had seven kills, four blocks and four digs, and Rontraye Rainey added five kills and three digs for the Trailblazers.

Coronado 3, Centennial 0 — At Coronado, Tyler Cucullu had 14 kills, four blocks and seven digs as the Cougars downed the Bulldogs, 30-28, 25-9, 25-18.

Matt Pettit added 10 kills and six digs, and Timmy McMoore-Tuamoheloa had five blocks for Centennial.

Blake Frischknecht led Centennial with nine kills, and Hunter Stratton had eight kills for the Bulldogs.

Valley 3, Liberty 0 — At Valley, Sean Carter had 34 assists, seven digs and six kills to help the Vikings to a 25-20, 25-14, 25-14 sweep of the Patriots.

Matt Ballaro added 12 kills, four digs and two aces, and Jack Heavey had 11 kills and three digs for Valley, which got 19 digs from David Delaney.

Kusitafu Otuafi had six kills, and Alex Tejada added three kills and two aces for Liberty.
