ROUNDUP: Homeyer, Mountain Lions remain in control in Southwest

Kohl Homeyer had 16 kills and Sierra Vista’s boys volleyball team remained alone in the Southwest League lead with a 25-18, 21-25, 25-14, 25-22 win at Bonanza on Monday.

Marvi Sanchez added 12 kills for the Mountain Lions, who are 7-0 in Southwest play.

Mike Hartmann had 15 digs for Bonanza, 5-1 in the league.

Bishop Gorman 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Bishop Gorman, Bobby Hauser had 15 kills and Alex Turner added nine to help the Gaels to a 25-13, 25-13, 25-7 victory over Desert Oasis.

Clark 3, Western 0 — At Clark, Chris Henriksen had 13 kills and George Huang five kills and seven blocks to carry the Chargers past Western, 25-23, 25-22, 25-15.

Also for Clark, Josh Baugus had four kills and Dave Samson supplied 22 assists.

Chaparral 3, Valley 1 — At Chaparral, Carlos Chandia compiled nine aces, seven kills and 29 assists to help the Cowboys earn a 22-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-20 victory over Valley.

D.J. Grassie added 14 kills and 12 aces for Chaparral.

Desert Pines 3, Eldorado 0 — At Desert Pines, Dominique Lawrence had 10 kills, seven digs and four aces to lead the Jaguars to a 25-22, 25-20, 25-17 victory over the Sundevils.

Dalton Leilua had 13 digs and eight kills for Desert Pines, and Paul Bennett contributed eight kills and seven digs.

Corey Harris led Eldorado with 10 kills. Jesse Whinery had 14 assists and three blocks, and Kaiden Shakespear added five blocks and three kills.

Rancho 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Antonio Boucher spiked 11 kills to help the Rams capture a 25-14, 29-27, 25-22 victory over the Pioneers.

Kevin Wadsworth had 28 assists and Kevin Plascencia 13 digs for Rancho.

R.J. Estevez led Canyon Springs with 21 assists, and Garvin Tabangcura added 10 digs.

Centennial 3, Las Vegas 0 — At Centennial, Drew Staker had 12 kills and 14 blocks, and Jeff Mecham dished out 33 assists as the Bulldogs swept the Wildcats, 25-21, 25-16, 25-15.

Centennial’s Blake Davidson had five kills and four blocks and Kyle Moody made eight digs. Matt Kurtz added seven kills.

Aaron Hanson had 10 kills and Chris Millette 11 digs for Las Vegas, while Danny Farias made 26 assists.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Durango 0 — At Cimarron, Scott Beckwith compiled 11 kills, nine digs and three aces to help the Spartans earn a 25-14, 25-20, 25-15 victory over Durango.

Triton Manumaleuna added five kills, six aces and seven digs for Cimarron.
