ROUNDUP: Shea, Gaels rally to hand Bengals first league loss

Chris Shea hadt 32 assists, and Jason Han supplied 30 digs Tuesday as Bishop Gorman’s boys volleyball team rallied for a 23-25, 14-25, 25-20, 25-19, 15-12 upset of visiting Bonanza.

Matt Lychock had 13 kills, and Stephen Zimmerman added 10 kills for Gorman, which handed the Bengals their first loss of the season in Southwest League play.

Mitchell Barnes had 31 assists, and Kenny DeSoto notched 20 digs for Bonanza, which got 11 kills from Brycen Duckworth.

Chaparral 3, Desert Pines 2 — At Chaparral, Saequan Charingto had 22 kills and three blocks to help the Cowboys rally for an 18-25, 15-25, 25-23, 25-19, 15-12 win over the Jaguars.

Thomas Hooper had 21 kills and five blocks, and Julian Jacobs supplied 18 kills and six blocks for Desert Pines, which got 30 assists and seven blocks from Trevor Krystek.

Durango 3, Western 2 — At Western, Caleb Snook posted 30 assists and eight aces, and teammate Dex Alston added 29 digs and four aces as the Trailblazers pushed past the Warriors, 20-25, 18-25, 25-19, 25-15, 15-5.

Daniel Bernard had 17 kills and 10 blocks, and Rontraye Rainey supplied nine kills and nine blocks for Durango.

Vadell Wilson led Western with 13 kills and five blocks. Braden Smith added 18 assists, and Wesley Hults had 15 digs for the Warriors, who got nine kills and five blocks from Reese Tillmond.

Desert Oasis 3, Spring Valley 0 — At Desert Oasis, Alex Trillo recorded 40 assists, nine digs, three kills and two blocks, and Nate Noor tallied eight digs and seven kills to help the Diamondbacks down the Grizzlies, 32-30, 25-17, 25-13.

Tailer Bowen had 20 kills and two digs, and Danny Eslinger supplied 25 digs for Desert Oasis.

Canyon Springs 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Canyon Springs, Jon Jason Duhaylungsod supplied 30 assists and eight digs, and James Harris spiked 12 kills as the Pioneers swept the Miners, 25-18, 25-13, 25-23.

Michael Valerio and Eivan Nafarrete each tallied 13 digs for Canyon Springs.

Rancho 3, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Guillermo Silva had 13 kills, and Jarik Wasson dished out 15 assists to help lead the Rams to a 25-12, 25-14, 25-15 win over the Sundevils.

R’Mond Hill put down 11 kills, and Nathan Campo added 12 digs for Rancho.

Joey Smith tallied seven kills, and teammate Cody Ence posted seven digs to lead Eldorado.

Sierra Vista 3, Clark 0 — At Clark, Luis Meneses had seven kills, five aces and four digs to lead the Mountain Lions to a sweep of the Chargers, 25-11, 25-10, 25-18.

Edward Josol added 11 kills and three digs for Sierra Vista.

Foothill 3, Tech 0 — At Foothill, Clancey Gilles had 34 assists and three aces, and Kendell Andrews had 18 kills and six digs to help the Falcons sweep the Roadrunners, 25-18, 25-18, 25-20.

Caleb Hutchinson added six kills for Foothill.

Dalton Webb led Tech with 11 kills and four aces.
