ROUNDUP: Vikings rally for road win over Pioneers

Taylor Herrington pounded out 16 kills, six blocks and five aces Friday to help Valley’s boys volleyball team outlast host Canyon Springs, 24-26, 25-22, 26-28, 25-22, 15-11.

Carl Ajuziem had 41 assists, seven kills and three aces for the Vikings. Lawrence Palma added eight kills, and Ignacio Diaz spiked seven.

Adrian Snow led Canyon Springs with 13 blocks and eight kills. Jon Duhaylungsod dished out 25 assists for the Pioneers, and Daniel Hernandez added six kills and four aces.

Rancho 3, Chaparral 0 — At Rancho, Kevin Plascencia had 11 digs, seven aces and seven kills to lead the Rams in a rout of the Cowboys, 25-2, 25-8, 25-17.

Kyle Stankosky added seven aces and seven digs for Rancho, and teammate Antonio Boucher finished with six kills and three blocks.

Bonanza 3, Clark 0 — At Clark, Jared Ayer had 11 kills, and Jared Harrington added eight blocks to lead the Bengals to a 25-18, 25-21, 25-13 win over the Chargers.

Dustin Tippitts added 13 assists for Bonanza.

Clark’s Matt Ruedas and George Huang had five kills apiece, and teammate David Sampson distributed 18 assists.

Bishop Gorman 3, Western 0 — At Bishop Gorman, Matt Paglia had 38 assists and six aces to lead the Gaels past the Warriors, 25-7, 25-11, 25-16.

Bobby Houser added 17 kills and five aces for Gorman, and teammate Tim Carter had six kills.

Durango 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Durango, Mark Brautigam had 12 kills and eight digs to help the Trailblazers sweep the Diamondbacks, 25-15, 25-15, 25-23.

Gary House added 11 kills and five blocks for Durango, and teammate Jake Jackson dished out 37 assists.

Zach Bobenhausen led Desert Oasis with seven kills and five digs.

Las Vegas 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Braeden Wilson had seven kills, six digs and two blocks to help the Wildcats cruise past the Jaguars, 25-9, 25-20, 25-12.

Trevor Hardy had seven kills and three aces to help Las Vegas, and teammate James Joseph had six kills and five blocks.

Paul Bennett had seven kills and two blocks for Desert Pines, and teammate Andrew Amato added 20 digs.

Sunrise Mountain 3, Eldorado 1 — At Sunrise Mountain, the Miners rallied from a first-game loss to beat the Sundevils, 19-25, 25-23, 25-17, 25-21.
