VOLLEYBALL: Cameron, Diamondbacks top Spartans
Billy Cameron had 20 kills, five aces and two blocks to rally Desert Oasis’ boys volleyball team to a 14-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-22 over visiting Cimarron-Memorial on Wednesday.
Chris Gama had eight kills, Tyler Sadama had 16 assists and three aces, and Joshua Sadama dished out 21 assists for the Diamondbacks.
Erick Forbush had six kills, 11 digs and four blocks to lead the Spartans.
Cody Brown had 15 digs, Jason Corrales added 23 assists, six digs and two blocks, and Utah Mika had seven kills and five digs for Cimarron.
Arbor View 3, Centennial 1 — At Arbor View, Treven Clizbe had 17 kills and eight digs, and Brenden Wagner added 16 kills in the Aggies’ 25-20, 25-7, 18-25, 27-25 win over the Bulldogs.
Brenden Gougeon dished out 37 assists for Arbor View, which also got 19 digs from Michael Prescia and three blocks from Tyreese Cole.
Kade Frischknecht led Centennial with 15 kills. Jake McCullough had nine kills and two blocks, Justin Dietrich had eight kills and six blocks, and Tristan James added 10 digs for the Bulldogs.
Foothill 3, Basic 0 — At Foothill, Shilo Chow had 12 kills, 25 assists, six digs and five blocks to lead the Falcons past the Wolves, 25-13, 25-8, 25-19.
Eric Szukiewicz had 10 kills and six digs, and Troy Bell had 15 digs for the Falcons.
Brad McDonald had 10 kills to lead the Wolves, while Matt Gajeski dished out 18 assists,
Coronado 3, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Justice Balanay-Flores notched 20 assists and three kills, and Duncan Day had eight kills as the Cougars swept the Sundevils, 25-5, 25-14, 25-9.
J.J. Meath added seven kills for Coronado.
Green Valley 3, Rancho 0 — At Green Valley, James Reed had 14 kills and five aces to lead the Gators to a 25-11, 25-16, 25-14 sweep of the Rams.
Chase Larson had 12 kills and four blocks, and Zachary Hewitt dished out 34 assists and had five digs for Green Valley.
Lamont Traylor had 10 kills and eight digs to lead Rancho.
Bishop Gorman 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Gorman, Trevor Papcock tallied 46 assists and five digs to lead the Gaels to a 25-11, 25-8, 25-13 sweep of the Jaguars.
Jacob Taylor and Charles Pollnow each had seven kills, and Blake Weissman added five kills for Gorman.
Carlos Flores finished with five digs and three kills, and teammate Ortega Wiltz had five kills for Desert Pines.
Del Sol 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Del Sol, Blane Quitog had 10 kills, eight digs and two aces, and Anthony Nehme tallied six kills, six blocks and three digs as the Dragons swept the Desert Shields, 25-21, 26-24, 25-16.
Nate Bryan supplied five kills, four digs and two aces, and Alec Monetemayor added six digs for Del Sol.
Lanson Keomaka notched 20 assists for Cheyenne, and teammate Tyler Buchanan had 12 kills.
Bonanza 3, Western 0 — At Western, Bronson Duckworth had six kills, eight aces and five digs to lead the Bengals past the Warriors, 25-8, 25-14, 25-11.
Robby Adair had nine kills, four aces and six digs, Dylan Hafen had eight kills, and Luis Raygoza dished out 15 assists for the Bengals.
Brandon Ly had two kills and five digs to lead the Warriors. Gerardo Cardenas had seven assists and seven digs for Western.
