VOLLEYBALL: Clizbe, Aggies rally to top Shadow Ridge

Treven Clizbe had 27 kills Monday to lead Arbor View’s boys volleyball team to a 25-15, 19-25, 24-26, 27-25, 15-13 victory over visiting Shadow Ridge.

Brenden Wagner added 24 kills, and Brenden Gougeon had 51 assists for the Aggies. Michael Prescia added 27 digs for Arbor View.

Cutler Leavitt led Shadow Ridge with 16 kills and 12 digs. C.J. McGinnis had 43 assists, and nine digs, and teammate Sebastian Campos added 10 kills and three blocks for the Mustangs, who got 48 digs from Cameron Renner.

Western 3, Sunrise Mountain 2 — At Sunrise Mountain, Anthony Dodson put down 12 kills, and Brandon Ly added six kills and five aces as the Warriors downed the Miners, 19-25, 25-13, 25-11, 23-25, 15-7.

Christian Macias had five kills and five aces, and Jimmy Muniz served six aces for Western.

Theodore Williams led Sunrise Mountain with 10 kills, eight digs and two aces. Trevor White added seven kills for the Miners, and teammate Rodney King had 13 digs and four aces.

Coronado 3, Rancho 1 — At Coronado, J.J. Meath had 15 kills and 11 digs, and Justice Balanay-Flores added 52 assists, 11 digs and two blocks as the Cougars defeated the Rams, 23-25, 25-17-25-19, 25-23.

Ryan Garlick added 14 kills, and Nathan Gerrard had 15 digs for Coronado.

Lamont Traylor paced Rancho with 21 kills, 10 digs and two aces, and teammate Tristan King had six kills and three blocks.

Green Valley 3, Basic 0 — At Basic, Dustin Elliott had nine kills, five digs and three blocks to power the Gators to a 25-14, 25-18, 25-14 win over the Wolves.

James Reed added eight kills and five digs for Green Valley.

Brad McDonald had seven kills, and teammate Matt Gajeski added 21 assists for Basic.

Centennial 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Centennial, Kade Frischknecht had 12 kills to help the Bulldogs to a 25-17, 25-23, 25-9 sweep of the Diamondbacks.

Centennial’s Sam Belnap dished out 23 assists, and Tristan James had five digs for the Bulldogs.

Billy Cameron had 13 kills to pace Desert Oasis. Joshua Sadama had 12 assists, and Tyler Sadama added 11 assists for the Diamondbacks.

Mojave 3, Chaparral 0 — At Mojave, Alex Carvalho had 16 kills and six digs, and Patrick Harper added 10 kills and four blocks as the Rattlers topped the Cowboys, 25-15, 25-12, 25-15.

Antonyo Wright had seven kills and six blocks, and Jason Zambrano notched 36 assists and five blocks for Mojave.

Isai Barrios had five kills, and teammate Ray Almanda contributed three blocks for Chaparral.

Foothill 3, Eldorado 0 — At Foothill, Shilo Chow had 26 assists, three kills and three blocks to lead the Falcons to a 25-13, 25-13, 25-6 sweep of the Sundevils.

Zachary Thompson added nine kills and four blocks, and Mason Hansen had eight kills and two digs for Foothill.

Desert Pines 3, Cheyenne 1 — At Desert Pines, Ortega Wiltz had eight kills, two aces, 11 digs and three blocks, and Carlos Flores added eight kills, eight digs and five blocks to lead the Jaguars past the Desert Shields, 25-20, 25-14, 24-26, 25-21.

Estanislao Lansangan had eight kills, 21 assists, two aces, nine digs and two blocks for Desert Pines, and teammate Carlos Ortiz added eight kills.

Tyler Buchanan had 13 kills, and teammate Felix Ellqvist had four aces for Cheyenne.

Bonanza 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Cimarron, Robby Adair had 17 kills and six digs as the Bengals topped the Spartans, 25-14, 25-19, 25-14.

Bronson Duckworth and Luis Raygoza each had 16 assists for Bonanza, and Adam Escobar added seven digs for the Bengals.

Erick Forbush led Cimarron with five kills and three blocks. Utah Mika added five kills, and Cody Brown had 19 digs for the Spartans.

Valley 3, Sierra Vista 0 — At Valley, Marty Heavey had 17 kills and 11 digs as the Vikings swept the Mountain Lions, 25-14, 25-22, 25-15.

Jared Marchello added 11 kills, and Justin Sandoval dished out 31 assists for Valley.
