VOLLEYBALL: Gators sweep Foothill, clinch share of Southeast League title

James Reed had nine kills and nine digs Monday to help Green Valley’s boys volleyball team clinch at least a share of first place in the Southeast League with a 25-16, 25-22, 25-15 sweep of visiting Foothill.

Chase Larson had nine kills and four blocks, and Tyler Dancel added nine digs for the Gators, who hold a one-match lead over both Coronado and Foothill with one match remaining.

Jonny Rolle had seven kills and four blocks, and Shilo Chow added 20 assists and five blocks for the Falcons. Troy Bell added 12 digs for Foothill.

Arbor View 3, Bonanza 1 — At Bonanza, Treven Clizbe had 22 kills and 12 digs as the Aggies pulled into a tie for first place in the Northwest League by rallying past the Bengals, 22-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-13.

Brenden Wagner had 19 kills and 10 digs, and Brenden Gougeon added 44 assists and 12 digs for Arbor View, which got 24 digs from Michael Prescia.

Robby Adair had 21 kills and 11 digs to lead the Bengals, who are tied with Arbor View atop the Northwest.

Manny Salazar had six kills, four digs and two blocks, and Luis Raygoza dished out 30 assists for Bonanza, which got 14 digs from Tyler Simmons.

Coronado 3, Basic 1 — At Coronado, J.J. Meath had 13 kills, six digs, four aces and three blocks to lead the Cougars to a 25-17, 25-19, 23-25, 25-18 victory over Basic.

Trey Hunter added 10 kills and five blocks, and teammate Justice Balanay-Flores had 48 assists for Coronado.

Nathan Gerrard and Michael Travis each added 10 digs for the Cougars.

J.J. Cabero led Basic with nine blocks. Brad McDonald added 13 kills for the Wolves, who got 24 assists from Matt Gajeski.

Centennial 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Cimarron, Kade Frischknecht had 12 kills, four digs and two blocks to lead the Bulldogs to a 25-20, 25-21, 25-20 sweep of the Spartans.

Justin Dietrich added eight kills and two blocks, and Grant Nelson helped with 30 assists for Centennial. Tristan James added 13 digs and two aces for the Bulldogs.

Cody Brown had 14 digs and four aces, and Utah Mika had 13 kills for Cimarron. Erick Forbush added four kills and seven blocks for the Spartans.

Chaparral 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Isai Barrios had 12 kills and two blocks to lead the Cowboys past the Miners, 25-12, 25-9, 25-10.

Trevor White had five kills, and Bobby Brass had four kills for Sunrise Mountain, which got eight digs from Rodney King.

Desert Pines 3, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Carlos Flores had 14 kills, 21 digs and two aces to lead the Jaguars to a 26-24, 28-26, 25-23 victory over the Dragons.

Estanislao Lansangan had 11 kills, 25 assists and seven digs, and teammate Ortega Wiltz had 12 kills, eight digs and two aces for Desert Pines.

Anthony Nehme led Del Sol with six kills and five blocks, and teammate Blane Quitog had five kills and six assists. Allen Ramos added 12 assists for the Dragons.

Rancho 3, Eldorado 0 — At Rancho, Lamont Traylor had 16 kills and seven digs to help the Rams to a 25-9, 25-21, 25-14 sweep of the Sundevils.

Douglas Candido added 28 assists, six digs and two blocks, and Jeffrey Camal had 17 digs for Rancho. Brennan Berti added six kills for the Rams.

Durango 3, Liberty 0 — At Durango, Michael Diggins had 11 kills, three digs and two blocks to lead the Trailblazers over the Patriots, 25-10, 25-23, 25-16.

Andre Shabazz had 28 assists, six digs and two kills, and teammate Jaylen Clark added eight kills, four aces, three digs and three blocks for Durango. Gabe Pestano recorded six kills, four aces, three digs and three blocks for the Trailblazers.

Tech 3, Word of Life 0 — At Tech, Jesse Rojas had three kills and eight aces to lead the Roadrunners to a sweep of the Eagles, 25-12, 25-16, 25-13.

Sir-Issak Singelton had four kills, and Julius Barnes had two aces and dished out six assists for Tech.
