VOLLEYBALL: Keomaka leads Cheyenne past Spring Valley
Lanson Keomaka had 11 kills and two aces Wednesday to lead Cheyenne’s boys volleyball team to a 21-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-21 victory over visiting Spring Valley.
Devonte Hammond added six kills and two blocks for the Desert Shields, and teammate Elijah Cocker had 15 assists and three aces.
Stevan Paukovic led Spring Valley with nine kills and four assists. Troy Lance added five kills, seven digs, six assists, two aces and two blocks, and teammate Ace Lebreche had three kills, three aces and five blocks for the Grizzlies.
Mojave 3, Clark 0 — At Clark, Absalon Williams had 17 kills and five blocks to lead the Rattlers to a 25-17, 25-8, 25-14 victory over the Chargers.
Jason Zambrano added 42 assists and four aces, and Alex Carvahal had 11 kills, 10 digs and three aces for Mojave.
Clayton Fontano and Antonyo Wright each added seven kills for the Rattlers.
Amir Boone led Clark with seven kills and two blocks. Alan Cruz added five kills, Daryll Valdez had three kills and two blocks, and Omar Catic had three blocks for the Chargers.
Sierra Vista 3, Western 0 — At Sierra Vista, Chris McCoy had 11 kills and eight digs, and Matt Marick added 17 digs as the Mountain Lions swept the Warriors 25-14, 25-21, 25-19.
Jordan Kirtley added 10 kills and four aces for Sierra Vista.
Brandon Ly had three digs, two kills and two aces, and teammate Dylan Reeves had two digs for Western.
