VOLLEYBALL: Wildcats rally for victory over Vikings
Chris Kampshoff has 23 kills and 16 digs, and T.J. Esporas added 22 kills and 21 digs Monday to help Las Vegas High’s boys volleyball team rally for a 26-28, 24-26, 25-18, 25-19, 15-11 win at Valley.
Shayne Marquez had 60 assists, three kills and eight digs, and Brian Singson supplied 24 digs, two kills and four aces for the Wildcats.
Valley’s Matt Ballaro had 21 kills and eight digs, and Jack Heavey contributed 22 kills and four digs for the Vikings. Alex Sandoval had 54 assists, 13 digs, two kills and two aces, and teammate David Delaney chipped in 25 digs for Valley.
Silverado 3, Green Valley 2 — At Silverado, Dylan Eastman recorded 10 kills as the Skyhawks defeated the Gators, 24-26, 25-19, 25-22, 24-26, 15-10.
Travis Houston had 26 digs, and Cody Steckel had 24 assists for the Skyhawks.
Brian Ellington led the Gators with six blocks, and teammate Parker Burpee had nine digs.
Palo Verde 3, Sierra Vista 0 — At Sierra Vista, Brigham Clawson had 12 kills to help the Panthers to a 25-12, 25-20, 25-13 sweep of the Mountain Lions.
Andrew Weston had 31 assists, and Michael Simister had nine kills for Palo Verde.
Jordan Kirtley had five kills and 11 digs, and Kelvin Liang added seven kills and nine digs for Sierra Vista.
Arbor View 3, Spring Valley 0 — At Spring Valley, Darrell Swanson had eight kills to lead the Aggies to a 25-7, 25-7, 25-9 sweep of the Grizzlies.
Chris Heron had 38 assists, and Peter Peck added 14 digs for Arbor View, which got six aces from Nick Kastenholtz and five kills from Brenden Gougeon.
Bradd Robison led the Grizzlies with two kills, two digs and three blocks. Troy Lance had three digs, and Nick Purser had four assists for Spring Valley.
Rancho 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Lamont Traylor had seven kills and seven blocks as the Rams beat the Pioneers, 25-10, 25-20, 25-21.
Austin Moncrief added five kills and two blocks, and Aaron Robles had 22 assists and two aces for Rancho.
Evan Anderson and Michael Winston each had four kills for Canyon Springs. Jeremiah Tolliver added four blocks for the Pioneers, who got three kills from Gaspar Gonzalez.
Shadow Ridge 3, Durango 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Quinn Peterson had four aces and 15 kills to lead the Mustangs to a 25-14, 25-18, 25-13 sweep of the Trailblazers.
Carter Johnson had five kills and three aces, and Nathan Makaiwi had 22 assists and seven digs for Shadow Ridge.
Andre Shabazz had 16 assists, and Michael Diggins added five kills for the Trailblazers, who got four kills from Frank Patricio.
Cimarron-Memorial 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Cimarron, Dallas Cervantes had nine kills, four aces and 28 digs as the Spartans swept the Desert Shields 25-16, 25-15 and 26-24.
Johnny Centeno had seven kills, two aces, and 16 digs, and Roy Gonzalez had eight kills, two blocks and 12 digs for Cimarron, which got 24 assists, six digs and two aces from Nate Starlin.
Cheyenne’s Dylan Johnson had five blocks, and Oscar Monzon had 14 assists for the Desert Shields.
Chaparral 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Pierce Morgan had nine kills, 20 assists and 13 digs to lead the Cowboys by the Jaguars, 25-20, 25-14, 25-16.
Matt Sanger had seven kills, six digs and four blocks, and Eric Poznanski added six kills, four assists and three digs for Chaparral.
Estanislao Lansangan had five kills for Desert Pines.
Tech 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Tyler Gardenhire had nine kills and three aces the Roadrunners swept the Miners 25-12, 25-12, 25-9.
Joshua Wood added four kills, two aces and 10 assists, and Brandon Finley had three aces and three kills for Tech, which got seven digs from Miguel Garcia.
