GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Palo Verde overcomes early deficit, outlasts Legacy in five sets
Aaliah Largusa had 10 kills, and Arien Fafard finished with nine kills and 22 assists as Palo Verde’s girls volleyball team rallied from a two-set hole to defeat visiting Legacy 13-25, 18-25, 25-16, 25-15, 15-11 on Tuesday.
Carli Tanner had seven kills and eight digs, and Makaya Truman added 22 digs for the Panthers.
Myah Maxwell led the Longhorns with 15 kills. Kamaile Mendonsa dished out 28 assists, and Kassidy DeSchepper had 14 digs for Legacy.
Foothill 3, Faith Lutheran 2 — At Foothill, Whitley Brow had 18 kills and 18 digs, and Riana Blount added eight kills and seven blocks as the Falcons held on for a 25-21, 26-24, 15-25, 20-25, 15-9 win over the Crusaders.
Kiley McCall had 39 assists, 14 digs and five blocks, and Aysia Mabry notched six kills and three blocks for Foothill.
Bryanna Neagle led Faith Lutheran with 11 kills and seven blocks. Tayah Washington had 16 kills and 15 digs, and Sydney Washington had 12 kills and four blocks for the Crusaders, who got 21 digs from Logan Van Reken.
Shadow Ridge 3, Arbor View 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Whittnee Nihipali recorded 11 kills, 12 digs and two aces, and Stacey Hone supplied nine kills, eight digs and three aces as the Mustangs ran past the Aggies, 25-11, 25-19, 25-17.
Kizzy Rodriguez added eight kills and 13 digs for Shadow Ridge.
Alyson Jeeves had 11 assists for Arbor View.
Centennial 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Centennial, Siara Roberts had six kills, 19 assists, four digs and two aces, and Danyale Berry added nine kills to lead the Bulldogs to a 25-13, 26-24, 25-20 sweep of the Spartans.
Tallie Bonds had three kills, 13 assists and four aces, and teammate Kaysha Clark notched 12 digs for Centennial.
Alexandra Payan had 12 digs to lead Cimarron, which got eight assists and seven kills from Logan DeLong.
Alyssa Karpinski added four kills and three blocks for the Spartans.
Rancho 3, Boulder City 0 — At Rancho, Leiana Nacapuy had 30 assists and nine digs, and Sam Pochop supplied 12 kills and two blocks to lead the Rams to a 25-14, 25-18, 25-10 sweep of the Eagles
Dayana Raygoza had eight kills and eight digs, and Mia Suzuki notched 16 digs for Rancho.
Valley 3, Chaparral 1 — At Chaparral, Rebecca Barnosky had 21 assists and five aces as the Vikings defeated the Cowboys, 25-19, 25-16, 14-25, 25-20.
Jessica Perez had eight digs, and Michelle Burkhalter added five kills for Valley.
Alyssa Porras led Chaparral with 11 kills.
Bonanza 3, Basic 1 — At Basic, Taryn Warner put down 19 kills, and Alexa Rodriguez added 11 kills to help the Bengals to a 17-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-18 win over the Wolves.
Sydney Dunn dished out 39 assists, and Chianna Rodriguez had four aces and 16 digs for Bonanza.
Kiara Richardson led Basic with 14 kills, 14 digs and three blocks. Skylar Robbins had 27 assists, three aces and 15 digs, and Azure Werner notched eight kills and 10 digs for the Wolves.
Virgin Valley 3, Eldorado 0 — At Mesquite, Bernice Fiso had 14 kills, and Calee Clem added 21 assists to lead the Bulldogs to a 25-16, 25-13, 25-12 victory over the Sundevils.
Emma Barnum finished with seven aces for Virgin Valley.
Kiana Parkes led Eldorado with four kills. Hailey Stark had three kills and five blocks, and Samantha Voogd had four assists for the Sundevils.
Pahranagat Valley 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, the Panthers swept the Miners, 25-6, 25-7, 25-9.
Anahis Nava led Sunrise Mountain with three kills. Daniela Robledo-Toribio had eight digs, and Destiny Favela added three digs for the Miners.
Lake Mead 3, Laughlin 1 — At Laughlin, Jacea Tillman had eight kills, three assists and two aces in the Eagles’ 25-12, 25-20, 19-25, 25-21 win over the Cougars.
Allee Butz had seven kills, four aces and two assists, and Josey White added five kills and two assists for Lake Mead.
The Meadows 2-2, Adelson School 0-0 — At The Meadows, Emily Ebel had 22 assists in the first match and added 14 assists in the second to help the Mustangs sweep the Lions 25-7, 25-7 and 25-7, 25-8.
Dani Mason had seven kills and three aces, and Dina Kosyagin had seven kills for The Meadows in the opener. Rachel Siegel added four kills and Anna Dorn finished with 11 digs for the Mustangs in the first match.
Kosyagin had six kills and two aces, and Dorn finished with eight digs and two aces in the second match.
Calvary Chapel 2-2, Mountain View 0-0 — At Mountain View, the Lions swept the Saints, 25-8, 25-12, and 25-10, 25-10.
Lexi Davis had 12 assists, three aces and two kills in the first match and 14 assists and two kills in the second match for Calvary Chapel.
Mountain View’s Jordan Spriggs had 13 digs in the first match and four digs in the second match.
