Liberty Baptist claims tournament title
Liberty Baptist’s girls volleyball team defeated Somerset-Losee, 25-23, 25-17 in the championship game of the South West Independent Athletic Championship to claim the tournament title at Innovations International on Saturday.
Innovations International defeated Founders Academy, 25-13, 25-16 in the consolation game to claim third place.
Liberty Baptist’s Jade Halverson was named tournament MVP. Teammates Kiley Guardiola and Kelsey Guardiola were named to the all-tournament team.
They were joined on the all-tournament team by Somerset-Losee’s Sabrina Wright and Alexandria Wimberly, Innovations International’s Daniela Gutierrez and Founders Academy’s Sephora Lee.
