ROUNDUP: Green Valley avenges loss to Silverado
Siga Appelgate had 11 kills, five digs and three aces as Green Valley’s girls volleyball team avenged its only Southeast League loss of the season by defeating visting Silverado, 25-21, 25-23, 25-22 on Thursday.
Both teams finished 13-1 in league play. Green Valley will be the Southeast’s No. 1 seed in the Sunrise Region playoffs, which begin Monday.
Sydney Brozovich had eight kils, four digs and two aces, Jena Chavez 26 assists and Emma Johnson seven kills and three aces for the Gators.
Marilyn Agae had 18 assists and Patti Flagg seven kills and two aces for the Skyhawks.
Del Sol 3, Foothill 1 — At Del Sol, Kadie Miller had 32 assists, five digs, six aces and two blocks, and her sister Karie tallied 15 kills, two digs and two aces to help the Dragons beat the Falcons, 25-14, 25-22, 19-25, 25-23.
Bryanna Chavez added 15 kills, five digs, five aces and two blocks for Del Sol.
Jessica Stevenson had seven kills, six blocks, eight digs and two aces and Jessica Heintz 12 digs and eight kills for Foothill.
Liberty 3, Tech 0 — At Tech, Alexandra Fragoso had eight kills and Allison Gelles six digs and two aces as the Patriots beat the Roadrunners 25-7, 25-17, 25-22.
Lauren Tauala had three kills and two blocks for Liberty.
Jezebet Xaypanya led Tech with 12 digs and two aces.
Coronado 3, Basic 0 — At Basic, Katie Gamsky’s 30 assists, five kills and two aces helped Coronado to a 25-20, 25-17, 25-23 win over the Wolves.
Alexa Herlosky had 10 kills, Kuulei Piena eight kills and seven aces, Mikayla Delobel six kills and Ally Davis six aces and three digs for Coronado.
Cheyenne 3, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Crystal Bonnetts had three kills and three assists to help the Desert Shields cruise to a 25-15, 25-23, 25-9 win over the Rattlers.
Andrea Schmitz added six assists and two kills and Stacie Cain five kills for Cheyenne.
Megan Genest had four aces and two kills, Bobbie Harris four digs and Brittney Dingledine three kills for Mojave.
Shadow Ridge 3, Cimarron-
Memorial 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Kylee Schraft had 11 digs, 11 kills and two aces to lift the Mustangs over the Spartans, 25-10, 25-17, 25-13.
Kelsey Tesoro added 12 kills and 13 digs and Brittany Meyer 24 assists and seven digs for Shadow Ridge.
Catherine Wyre had five kills, three aces and nine digs for Cimarron.
Centennial 3, Arbor View 0 — At Centennial, Morgan Vieira led the Bulldogs with 22 assists, two kills, six digs and two blocks as Centennial defeated the Aggies, 25-11, 25-4, 25-17.
Johnna Brown had 12 kills and four digs, Katie Friedlander eight digs and Jessica Baal six kills and eight digs for the Bulldogs.
Palo Verde 3, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, Nicole Gneiting had 15 kills and five digs as the Panthers swept the Longhorns, 25-13, 25-14, 25-16.
Tori Lounsbery had 21 assists and seven digs for Palo Verde.
Kaylan Hanson had six kills and three digs and Kayla Murray seven kills and two blocks for Legacy.
Durango 3, Las Vegas 1 — At Las Vegas, Hayley Spelman racked up 44 kills to help the Trailblazers to a 25-19, 20-25, 25-16, 29-27 win over the Wildcats.
Morgan Malone had 36 assists for Durango.
Tiffany Jackson had 31 assists and seven digs, Danica Pickett 13 digs and eight kills and Natresha Bernard seven kills for Las Vegas.
Moapa Valley 3, Virgin Valley 2 — At Mesquite, the Pirates clinched the No. 1 seed for the Class 3A Southern League tournament with a 25-20, 25-21, 20-25, 16-25, 15-10 win over the Bulldogs.
The Meadows 2-2, West Wendover 0-1 — At West Wendover, the Mustangs swept the doubleheader from the Wolverines, winning the opener 26-24, 25-17 and taking the nightcap, 25-17, 20-25, 15-7.
Kristyna Fong tallied 22 digs in the first match and 20 in the second, and Kim McLaughlin had 12 assists in the first match and 20 in the second for the Mustangs.
Lincoln County 2-2, Calvary Chapel 0-0 — At Lincoln County, the Lynx swept a doubleheader from the Lions by scores of 25-16, 25-19 and 25-14, 25-22.
Brettani Davis had 19 digs for Calvary Chapel in the opener. Lauren Feigler added 13 digs and five blocks, and Jamie Bearden had five assists and two kills.
In the second match, Davis had 21 digs. Feigler and Ebony Brown each had 10 digs with Feigler adding five kills. Bearden had five assists and two aces.
Needles 2-2, Agassi Prep 0-0 — At Needles, Calif., the Mustangs swept a doubleheader against Agassi Prep, winning 25-18, 25-13 and 25-13, 25-20.
White Pine 2-2, Mountain View 1-1 — At Mountain View, White Pine outlasted the Saints, winning the opening match 25-21, 24-26, 15-12 and taking the nightcap 25-15, 25-27, 15-7.
Pahranagat Valley 3, Round Mountain 0 — At Round Mountain, Pahranagat Valley completed a perfect Class 1A Southern League season with a 25-9, 25-18, 25-8 win over the Knights.
Lund 3, Indian Springs 0 — At Indian Springs, Lund swept the Thunderbirds, 25-12, 25-8, 25-17.
Josette Dubois had four digs for Indian Springs. Tiffany Heeren and Tina Traster each had two digs. Traster and Cherish Malden each served two aces.
