ROUNDUP: Hall helps The Meadows clinch top spot in 2A Southern League

Vanessa Hall recorded 11 assists, five digs and four aces in the opening match and eight assists, six digs and four aces in the nightcap Friday as The Meadows’ girls volleyball team clinched first place in the Class 2A Southern League with a 25-8, 25-18 and 25-19, 25-12 sweep at Lincoln County.
In the opening match, Alex Hall and Sinead Lopez each totaled 10 digs for the Mustangs, who improved to 12-0 in league play. Kathryn Chakmak added five kills, and Jackie Lipkowitz had four digs for The Meadows.
In the finale, Lopez tallied 11 digs, and Alex Hall contributed five digs, four kills and three aces. Lipkowitz supplied seven digs and four aces in the second match.
Lake Mead 3, Agassi Prep 0 — At Lake Mead, Ashley Newton registered 14 kills and 10 aces, and Heather Hillenbrand chipped in nine kills and four digs to help the Eagles sweep the Stars, 25-9, 25-18, 25-9.
Taylor Vetter dished out 11 assists, and Megan Watkins added nine assists for Lake Mead. Anny Liston supplied 10 digs for the Eagles, who got five aces and three kills from Tessa McQuillan.
Calvary Chapel 2-2, Needles 1-0 — At Calvary Chapel, Laura Perri racked up 21 assists, five digs and three aces in the opener, and 13 assists, three digs and two kills in the nightcap as the Lions beat the Mustangs by scores of 20-25,25-15, 15-8 and 25-23, 25-18.
Bri Ridley had 14 kills and seven digs, and Brettani Davis added 15 digs for Calvary Chapel in the opener. Deja Harris contributed eight kills for the Lions.
In the second match, Davis had 12 digs, four aces and three assists. Harris supplied six kills, and Kelsey Hannah and Chelsea England each spiked five kills. Ridley added five digs and three kills.
Mountain View 2-1, Laughlin 1-2 — At Laughlin, Katelyn Krebs had 10 kills, nine blocks and two aces to help the Saints split a doubleheader with the Cougars.
Mountain View won the opening match, 25-14, 18-25, 15-8. Laughlin took the nightcap, 20-25, 25-22, 16-14.
Kayla Kirk had 10 kills, five blocks and four aces for Mountain View, and Amani Holliday added eight blocks, eight kills and two aces.
 
Tonopah 3, Beatty 0 — At Tonopah, Britney Klapper distributed 19 assists and had three kills and three aces to lead the Muckers to a 25-11, 25-8, 25-14 sweep of Beatty.
 
Sam Kimber added nine kills and three blocks, and Amanda O’Donnell had seven kills and four digs for Tonopah, which got six kills from Deanna Van Poucke.
Indian Springs 3, Round Mountain 1 — At Indian Springs, Heather Thormahlen served 13 aces, and Victoria Carpenter added nine aces as the Thunderbirds topped the Knights, 26-24, 26-24, 18-25, 25-21.
Valencia (Calif.) 2, Faith Lutheran 1 — At Phoenix, Valencia outlasted the Crusaders, 25-19, 21-25, 15-10 in the Tournament of Champions.
Desert Vista (Ariz.) 2, Faith Lutheran 0 — At Phoenix, Desert Vista swept the Crusaders, 25-21, 25-8 in the Tournament of Champions.
Hamilton (Ariz.) 2, Bishop Gorman 0 — At Phoenix, Hamilton picked up a 25-22, 25-21 win over the Gaels in the Tournament of Champions.
Taylorsville (Utah) 2, Bishop Gorman 0 — At Phoenix, Taylorsville handed the Gaels a 25-16, 25-21 loss in the Tournament of Champions.
Sahuaro (Ariz.) 2, Bishop Gorman 0 — At Phoenix, Sahuaro downed the Gaels, 25-17, 25-16, in the Tournament of Champions.
Sandra Day O’Connor (Ariz.) 2, Silverado 0 — At Phoenix, O’Connor swept the Skyhawks, 25-14, 25-20 in the Tournament of Champions.
Sabino (Ariz.) 2, Silverado 1 — At Phoenix, Sabino outlasted the Skyhawks, 25-18, 18-25, 18-16 in the Tournament of Champions.
