ROUNDUP: Phillips, Cheval power Panthers past Cougars

McCall Phillips had 20 digs, 19 kills and three blocks, and Kendall Cheval recorded 15 kills, 13 digs and three aces Tuesday to help Palo Verde’s girls volleyball team to a 25-18, 17-25, 26-24, 25-17 win over visiting Coronado.

Stephanie Herman had 38 assists, and Faryn Duncan supplied 25 digs for Palo Verde.

Coronado’s Cali Thompson had 24 assists, nine digs and four aces, and Lia Herlosky contributed 10 kills, seven digs and two blocks for the Cougars.

Las Vegas 3, Spring Valley 1 — At Las Vegas, Matti Ventling had 24 assists and three aces to lead the Wildcats over the Grizzlies, 25-13, 25-18, 19-25, 25-16.

Marissa Lair added 14 kills, nine digs and four aces, L’Tiah Davis had nine kills, and Anjelica Ashworth had nine digs and three aces for Las Vegas. 

Nicole Rafay and Rachel Milam each had six kills for Spring Valley, and teammate Hannah Karas had seven digs.

Silverado 3, Durango 1 — At Durango, Morgan Little dished out 46 assists, and Kayla Agae had 16 kills and 12 digs to help the Skyhawks beat the Trailblazers, 25-19, 19-25, 25-12, 25-13.

Melanie Srok had eight kills and eight digs, and Lauren Purdy added seven aces and five kills for Silverado, which also got six blocks from Amari Norris.

Cheyanne Haas had 14 assists, and Precious Williams supplied nine kills for Durango.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Cimarron, Erica Padilla had 11 assists, and Chalon Henderson added seven kills and two blocks to help the Spartans sweep the Pioneers, 25-16, 25-17, 25-18.

Kiana Carter had six kills, and Sarah Lutjens supplied six digs for Cimarron.

Canyon Springs’ Summer Atsuri had eight digs, and Sydney Morris supplied seven kills for the Pioneers.

Green Valley 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Green Valley, Jenna Swaffer recorded 14 assists, seven digs and five aces, and Nikki Drost had 11 kills as the Gators swept the Diamondbacks, 25-5, 25-22, 25-14.

Alley Seidler had nine assists and three digs, and Shanna Olsen supplied five kills and four aces for Green Valley.

Desert Oasis’ Tianna Jefferson had 14 assists, and Summer Bobenhausen-Kibler had 12 digs for the Diamondbacks.

Arbor View 3, Valley 0 — At Arbor View, Hannah Goddard had seven assists and three aces to lead the Aggies to a 25-14, 25-9, 25-20 win over the Vikings.

Jenna McClure had six kills and five aces, and Jordyn Beas added six kills for the Aggies, who got eight digs from Chrissy Blazek.

Bonanza 3, Sierra Vista 0 — At Sierra Vista, Rykki Rudd had seven kills, and Sammie Spelman served five aces as the Bengals swept the Mountain Lions 25-21, 25-12, 25-12.

Bridgette Levi had four kills, and Maeganne Cabias added two aces for Sierra Vista.

Chaparral 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Chaparral, Hannah Kirschbaum had 14 kills, seven aces and two blocks to lead the Cowboys past the Jaguars, 25-9, 25-5, 25-15.

Jaeda Allen helped Chaparral with 12 kills and two aces. Katie Oliveira added 32 assists, and Cheyenne Huntsman had five aces and two digs for the Cowboys.

Cynthia Zack led Desert Pines with 10 digs.

Virgin Valley 3, Tech 0 — At Mesquite, Nikki Arquette had 17 assists, four digs and three aces to lead the Bulldogs past the Roadrunners, 25-20, 25-12, 25-18.

Alora Bonner added 13 kills and nine aces, and Jasmine Pulver had four aces for Virgin Valley, which got three aces and two kills from Kirston Tanner.

Mikayla James had two kills, and Joyann Smith served two aces for Tech.

The Meadows 3, Pahranagat Valley 1 — At The Meadows, Nikki Lenardson had eight kills, five blocks and four aces to lead the Mustangs to a 21-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-14 win over the Panthers.

Amber Peterson had 12 kills, and Casey Barber added six kills for The Meadows.

Victoria Onufrieff had 29 digs, Katie Magness had 12 digs, and Adrianna Schuder had 17 assists for the Mustangs.

Lake Mead 2-2, Mountain View 0-1 — At Mountain View, Megan Watkins had 12 assists and seven digs in the opener and four assists and eight digs in the nightcap as the Eagles rolled to a 25-16, 25-13 and 25-23, 25-27, 15-4 sweep of the Saints.

In the opening match, Taylor Vetter had 11 kills and six digs, and Rachael Watkins had four aces and four digs for the Eagles, who got five digs and three aces from Jenette Hensley.

In the second match, Rachael Watkins supplied seven aces and eight digs, and Vetter had five kills and five digs. Shannon Regan added three kills and three blocks, and Taylor Badua-Kono had nine digs for the Eagles.

Elle Germany had five kills in the two matches for Mountain View.

Sandy Valley 3, Adelson School 2 — At Adelson School, Miranda Hancock had 12 aces and 10 assists as the Sidewinders edged the Lions, 24-26, 25-6, 25-15, 17-25, 15-6.

Cristian Auer added 11 aces, and Samantha Malkus had eight kills for Sandy Valley.

Mackenzie Lally had 14 digs and four kills, and Delaney Bruckner had four kills and five assists for Adelson School, which got nine assists and two kills from Tamar Tecktiel.
