Roundup: Shadow Ridge outlasts Coronado
Alysha Smith had 24 assists, 14 digs, eight kills and three aces as Shadow Ridge’s girls volleyball team held off visiting Coronado 25-18, 25-22, 16-25, 23-25, 17-15 on Tuesday.
Whittnee Nihipali tallied 18 kills, 12 digs, four blocks and three aces for the Mustangs, and teammate Madyson Lousignont added nine kills, six digs and three aces.
Dallas Balanay-Flores led the Cougars with 36 assists, 20 digs and three aces. Madison Karcich had 13 kills, and Natalia Tollestrup supplied 10 kills for Coronado.
Eldorado 3, Desert Pines 1 — At Desert Pines, Jessica Olivero had six sills, three aces and two digs to help the Sundevils beat the Jaguars, 25-16, 16-25, 25-19, 25-22.
Angela Valdez had four kills, three aces and three blocks for the Sundevils, and Jennifer Paddack had three kills and a block.
Alejandra Olan had five kills and 15 digs for the Jaguars, Michelle Rhodes had 13 digs, three aces and eight blocks, and Charity Hayman had four aces, three digs and two blocks.
Tech 3, Las Vegas 0 — At Las Vegas, Makenna Faught had 10 assists and two digs to help the Roadrunners to a 25-23, 25-21, 25-20 win over the Wildcats.
Kayla Cook added three kills and seven digs, and teammate Rosella Sanchez had five digs for Tech.
Victoria Barney led Las Vegas with 24 assists. R’monee Wright had six kills, and teammate Zoe Johnson added four kills, five aces and five digs for the Wildcats.
Palo Verde 3, Silverado 0 — At Palo Verde, Mia Sadler had 11 digs and 10 kills in the Panthers’ 25-10, 25-19, 25-22 win over the Skyhawks.
Arien Fafard supplied 13 assists and five kills for Palo Verde. Aaliah Larguas notched 10 kills, and teammate Jacquelyn Fields added seven kills and five blocks for the Panthers.
Brielen Aquino paced Silverado with 22 assists and seven digs. Sydney Berenyi contributed 14 kills and nine digs for Silverado, which got 10 digs from Kui’Puha Untalan.
Sierra Vista 3, Green Valley 0 — At Green Valley, Alexys Nassiri supplied 23 digs to guide the Mountain Lions to a 25-23, 25-20, 25-18 victory over the Gators.
Shantalle Demirjian put down 14 kills, and teammate Alana Davis had 11 digs for Sierra Vista.
Abby Olsen had 24 assists and seven digs to lead Green Valley, which got 10 kills and six digs from Lana Benson.
Arbor View 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Arbor View- Alyson Jeeves had 29 assists and two aces, and Sarah Goddard provided 13 kills and five aces to help the Aggies sweep the Desert Shields, 25-17, 25-13, 25-17.
Makayla Snyder had five kills and three aces, and Bailey Olbur supplied four kills and two blocks for Arbor View.
Aseret Gerado notched 12 assists, and Eryuan McJoy added five kills for Cheyenne.
Legacy 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Kamaile Mendonsa dished out 16 assists as the Longhorns swept the Pioneers, 25-9, 25-8, 25-15.
Jessica Liu had 11 assists, and teammate Alyssa Fuller added nine aces for Legacy.
Jazmyne Walker and Vanessa Aponte each had eight kills for the Longhorns.
Spring Valley 3, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Cashmere Buford had six kills and five aces to power the Grizzlies over the Rattlers, 25-21, 25-22, 25-13.
Zoe Williams had 15 assists and seven aces for the Grizzlies, and teammate Vaden Mangler had seven kills.
Alexis Otto had 30 assists for Mojave, and Sierra Orton had 10 kills and eight digs for the Rattlers.
Durango 3, Rancho 0 — At Rancho, Naomi Harris notched 10 kills and six digs, and Sierra Leone Sanchez added 10 digs and four aces as the Trailblazers swept the Rams, 25-11, 25-14, 25-5. Anuhea Faitau and Tehani Faitau each supplied 10 assists each for Durango.
Mia Suzuki had 11 digs for Rancho.
Valley 3, Clark 0 — At Clark, Krystal Carter had seven kills and three aces to help the Vikings top the Chargers, 25-17, 25-15, 25-23.
Demari Sprinkle added 12 aces and two kills for Valley.
Chaparral 3, GV Christian 0 — At Chaparral, Melany Rico had eight assists and six aces and Alexandria Williams added seven aces and six kills as the Cowboys swept the Guardians, 25-9, 26-24, 25-11.
Abigail Johnson had two kills and two aces for GV Christian.
Somerset-Sky Pointe 3, Word of Life 1 — At Somerset-Sky Pointe, Emily Lemmon had 12 kills to lead the Somerset-Sky Pointe to a 25-14, 25-15, 21-25, 25-22 victory.
Ellie Barrus added 20 digs, and teammate Savannah Hilterbran had seven aces.
