VOLLEYBALL: Gorman rallies from two-set deficit to top Centennial
Francesca Manz had 24 kills and three blocks, and Emma Filosi added 46 assists, five kills and three blocks Tuesday as Bishop Gorman’s girls volleyball team rallied for a 26-28, 30-32, 25-14, 25-16, 15-8 home win over Centennial.
Emma Kirst had 14 kills and five blocks, and Shelly Laman supplied 21 digs and three aces for the Gaels. Alex Roggero had 18 digs and six aces, and Gianna Ruggeroli and Vashti Cunningham each chipped in eight kills for Gorman.
Cristina Owens had 13 kills and five blocks, and Nani Padilla-Perez added 12 kills and 12 digs for the Bulldogs. Kristi Farley contributed 40 assists and six aces, and Madison Harper had 13 digs for Centennial.
Sierra Vista 3, Arbor View 1 — At Sierra Vista, Bailey Bergquist had 15 kills, eight digs and two aces to lead the Mountain Lions over the Aggies, 25-21, 25-22, 23-25, 25-15
Bridgette Levi had 10 kills and five digs, and Maeganne Cabias added five aces and 26 digs for Sierra Vista.
Jenna McClure had 11 assists, and Lauren Prescia added three kills for Arbor View.
Moapa Valley 3, Virgin Valley 1 — At Overton, Emily Mills dished out 40 assists, and Bailey Owens had 18 kills as the Pirates beat the Bulldogs 25-15, 25-27, 25-16, 25-13.
Makenzie Bush spiked 17 kills, and Alex Peterson served 10 aces for Moapa Valley, which got 16 digs from Marissa Perez.
Palo Verde 3, Spring Valley 0 — At Spring Valley, Stephanie Herman had five kills and 24 assists to lead the Panthers over the Grizzlies, 25-12, 25-14, 25-18.
Faryn Duncan added 13 digs for Palo Verde.
Courtney Lance had six kills, and Nicole Rafay added five kills for Spring Valley, which also got three kills and five digs from Rachel Milam.
Foothill 3, Liberty 0 — At Liberty, Sarah Dusenbury and Olivia Stet each had nine kills to help give the Falcons a 25-10, 25-12, 25-20 victory over the Patriots.
Christina Beaver added 29 assists, five digs and two aces, and Korina Bush had 15 digs for Foothill.
Reid Morgavi led Liberty with nine kills and two aces, and Morgan Husli added 10 assists for the Patriots.
Shadow Ridge 3, Durango 0 — At Durango, Ashley Smith spiked 20 kills, and Olivia Denny dished out 31 assists to help the Mustangs sweep the Trailblazers 25-17, 25-13, 25-13.
Trea Ortega had five kills, four digs and two aces for Durango.
Coronado 3, Basic 0 — At Coronado, Berkeley Oblad had eight kills and two blocks, and Carolyn Andrulis added seven kills to lead the Cougars to a 25-8, 25-8, 25-13 sweep of the Wolves.
Cali Thompson contributed 29 assists and two aces, and Emily Bender served six aces for Coronado.
Boulder City 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Boulder City, Kaylin Koltyerhan had 10 digs and four aces to lead the Eagles to a 25-8, 25-7, 25-12 victory over the Jaguars.
Tara Cox helped Boulder City with 10 assists and eight aces, and teammates Savannah Morris (four kills) and Lauren Pocius (three kills) also contributed.
Chaparral 3, Western 0 — At Chaparral, Hannah Kirschbaum supplied 10 kills and three aces, and Alejandra Macias added 12 assists and five aces to lead the Cowboys to a 25-18, 25-13, 25-16 sweep of the Warriors.
Carminda Greenstone had three kills and five digs for Chaparral.
Destiny Gonzalez had six kills, and Paea Sovou added three assists for Western.
Del Sol 3, Eldorado 0 — At Del Sol, Taylor Curtis had 10 kills, and Azhwalaee Oliver had seven kills and three blocks as the Dragons topped the Sundevils, 25-22, 25-16, 27-25.
Sunrise Mountain 3, Tech 0 — At Tech, the Miners were 25-7, 25-17, 25-19 winners over the Roadrunners.
Christine Sweet had five kills for Tech.
Pahranagat Valley 3, The Meadows 1 — At Alamo, Bailee Hosier had 13 kills, 25 digs and three aces, and Kennedy Huntsman added 28 assists and seven aces to lift the Panthers by the Mustangs, 25-10, 21-25, 25-21, 25-14.
Traci Strong had 13 kills and 17 digs, and Brook Higbee supplied 15 digs and two aces for Pahranagat Valley.
Sandy Valley 3, Word of Life 0 — At Sandy Valley, the Sidewinders swept the Eagles, 25-19, 25-12, 25-10.
Indian Springs 3, Adelson School 0 — At Indian Springs, the Thunderbirds posted a 25-14, 25-4, 25-15 win over the Lions.
