VOLLEYBALL: Long, Cowboys defeat visiting Miners

Monique Long had 11 kills and five digs on Tuesday to lead Chaparral’s girls volleyball team to a 25-20, 25-22, 23-25, 25-19 home victory over Sunrise Mountain.

Kayla Enderle added 10 assists and four aces for the Cowboys, and teammate Moriah Allen had six kills and three aces.

Abigail Delgado had eight kills for Chaparral.

Vanessa Amaya led Sunrise Mountain with 11 assists and two aces, and teammate Ayla Diaz had nine kills and two aces.

Whykella Haley (three kills, two blocks) and Legacy Lane (three aces) also contributed for the Miners.

Shadow Ridge 3, Sierra Vista 0 — At Sierra Vista, Ashley Smith tallied 27 kills and six digs, and teammate Eadara Files dished out 33 assists as the Mustangs swept the Mountain Lions, 25-11, 25-21, 25-20.

Chloe Gruwell had seven kills and six digs, and Caitlin Pascal added 14 digs for Shadow Ridge.

Sydney Land supplied eight kills, and teammate Heaven Gutierrez contributed six digs for Sierra Vista.

Bishop Gorman 3, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, Mya Ellis had six digs and five aces, and Makenzi Abelman added nine assists as the Gaels swept the Longhorns 25-15, 25-11, 25-17.

Gorman’s Sydney Labato had eight assists, Abby Archambault had six kills and Vashti Cunningham added four kills.

Faith Lutheran 3, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Pahrump, Megan Kronschnabel had 28 assists to lead the Crusaders to a 25-19, 25-13, 25-16 win over the Trojans.

Cayla Nikodemus (nine kills, four digs), Jordyn Dunseath (eight kills, two blocks) and Morgan Hill (six kills) also helped Faith Lutheran.

Jill Smith had 10 assists and four kills for Pahrump, which also got five kills from Shayla Dance and four kills from Koral Hearn.

Del Sol 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Azhwalaee Oliver logged 12 digs and seven kills to lead the Dragons to a 25-14, 25-17, 25-22 victory over the Jaguars.

Christy Patinio added 24 digs for Del Sol.

Paola Espino led Desert Pines with six kills.

Foothill 3, Rancho 0 — At Rancho, Christina Beaver had 37 assists, six digs and three kills, and Olivia Stet notched 17 kills, six digs and three assists to help the Falcons sweep the Rams, 25-23, 25-11, 25-16.

Rebecca Hill supplied 14 digs and eight kills, and teammate Michelle Moe added 17 digs for Foothill.

Danielle Carino had eight kills and eight digs to lead Rancho, and Kayla Coles added 13 digs for the Rams.

Coronado 3, Basic 0 — At Basic, Cali Thompson had 33 assists and seven aces, and Nikki Jackson added 10 kills, five digs and two aces as the Cougars swept the Wolves, 25-11, 25-10, 25-16.

Sabrina Lyen had 14 digs, and Berkeley Oblad supplied six kills and two aces for Coronado.

Green Valley 3, Eldorado 0 — At Green Valley, Rachel Klopfer had eight kills, six digs and three aces as the Gators rolled to a 25-4, 25-11, 25-16 victory over the Sundevils.

Maya Hill added seven kills, and Carlee Becker had 24 assists, three aces and two kills for Green Valley.

Tori Stark led Eldorado with four kills. Abigail Olsen added 12 assists, and Kiana Parkes had 13 digs for the Sundevils.

Palo Verde 3, Durango 0 — At Palo Verde, Kendall Cheval had 10 kills and 17 digs to help the Panthers to a 25-15, 25-14, 25-23 win over the Trailblazers.

Makenzie Paulk had 21 assists, and Faryn Duncan added 17 digs for Palo Verde.

Cayla Cooper had 21 digs for Durango.

Virgin Valley 3, Tech 0 — At Tech, Janella Fiso had 22 assists and eight service aces to lead the Bulldogs to a 25-11, 25-18, 25-17 win over the Roadrunners.

Emma Barnum had nine kills and an ace for Virgin Valley, and teammate Bernice Fiso added six kills and an ace.

Boulder City 3, Moapa Valley 1 — At Overton, the Eagles topped the Pirates, 25-19, 21-25, 26-24, 25-20.

Cheyenne Leavitt had 10 kills and 27 digs for Moapa Valley, which got 10 blocks apiece from Eden Whitmore and Jaylea Blasingame. Marissa Perez added 32 digs for the Pirates.

Calvary Chapel 3, Lake Mead 1 — At Lake Mead, Alexis Harris had 16 kills and 11 digs as the Lions rallied from a slow start to beat the Eagles, 23-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-21.

Noelle Miller (seven kills), Olivia Kaiser (six kills) and Mariah Martin (19 assists) also contributed for Calvary Chapel.

Allee Butz led Lake Mead with seven kills and 14 digs, and teammate Natalie Jankowski had seven kills.

Savannah Schmidt added six kills and 10 digs for the Eagles.

The Meadows 2-2, Mountain View 0-0 — At Mountain View, Dani Otter had 11 kills and 10 digs, and Alex Rimoldi supplied 14 digs and eight kills to lead the Mustangs to a 25-17, 25-6 win over the Saints in the opener.

Missy Siegel added 24 assists, and Brooke Brennan had nine digs, four kills and four aces for The Meadows.

In the second match, Siegel had 19 assists to guide the Mustangs to a 25-8, 25-16 victory.

Brennan had 12 digs and five kills, and Otter notched 10 kills and six digs for The Meadows.

Indian Springs 3, Somerset Academy 1 — At Indian Springs, the Thunderbirds defeated the Eagles, 25-17, 25-12, 20-25, 25-19.

Beaver Dam 3, Adelson School 1 — At Adelson, the Diamondbacks earned a 25-17, 23-25, 25-11, 25-13 road win over the Lions.
