VOLLEYBALL: Taylor helps Trailblazers outlast Cimarron
Carly Taylor had 31 kills, three aces and 12 digs Thursday to help Durango’s girls volleyball team to a 25-19, 23-25, 25-11, 22-25, 15-9 win at Cimarron-Memorial.
Sabrina Close had 30 assists, and Cayla Cooper added 23 digs for the Trailblazers.
Zaquae Downton led the Spartans with eight kills and 13 digs. Breeana DeCoud added eight kills and seven digs, and Logan DeLong added 23 assists and two aces for Cimarron.
Bonanza 3, Las Vegas 1 — At Bonanza, Sophie Cram had 19 kills and three aces to lead the Bengals to a 25-9, 21-25, 25-18, 25-21 victory over the Wildcats.
Hayley Huntsman had 37 assists and six aces, and teammate Claire Goodsell added 35 digs and eight aces for Bonanza.
Tajanae Davis led Las Vegas with nine kills and four blocks, and teammate Sam Remer had five aces and seven digs.
Palo Verde 3, Arbor View 0 — At Arbor View, Kendall Cheval had 11 kills, five aces and 10 digs to help the Panthers to a 25-23, 25-16, 25-21 win over the Aggies.
Makenzie Paulk had 19 assists, and Faryn Duncan added 18 digs for Palo Verde.
Jenna McClure had 22 assists, and Sarah Goddard added seven kills for Arbor View, which got 19 digs from Karli Beas.
Shadow Ridge 3, Centennial 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Ashley Smith had 11 kills and 13 digs to help the Mustangs to a 25-14, 25-14, 25-20 sweep of the Bulldogs.
Chloe Gruwell had 10 kills and two aces for Shadow Ridge.
Hannah Hitchcock had 15 assists and eight digs, and Deven Vieira had five kills and two blocks for Centennial. Talie Bonds added four kills and six digs, and teammate Alyssa Lucas had seven digs for the Bulldogs.
Faith Lutheran 3, Mojave 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Megan Kronschnabel had 33 assists to help the Crusaders to a 25-6, 25-17, 25-14 sweep of the Rattlers.
Cayla Nikodemus had 14 kills, and teammate Morgan Hill supplied 13 kills for Faith Lutheran.
Carissa Limtiaco led Mojave with seven kills and 14 digs. Leilani Limtiaco added seven kills, and Shyanne Orton had five kills and six blocks for the Rattlers.
Pahrump Valley 3, Western 0 — At Western, Jill Smith had five kills and eight assists to lead the Trojans past the Warriors, 25-9, 25-15, 25-15.
Alyssa Smith had four kills and seven digs for the Trojans. Lauren Koenig had four kills, and Shayla Dance had four blocks for Pahrump.
Destiny Gonzalez and Chaya Jordan each had four kills for the Warriors.
Sierra Vista 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Sierra Vista, Sydney Land had 10 kills, two blocks and two digs to help the Mountain Lions to a 25-18, 25-11, 25-9 sweep of the Desert Shields.
Kira Felise had 22 assists and two kills, and teammate Bridgette Levi added four kills, four aces and 12 digs for Sierra Vista.
Spring Valley 3, Clark 0 — At Clark, Danielle Amonica finished with eight kills and nine assists, and Danielle Lopez added eight kills as the Grizzlies swept the Chargers, 25-20, 25-15, 25-11.
Jessica Rafay added 12 assists for Spring Valley.
Angel Jamerson had 12 assists, four digs and three aces for Clark, and teammate Lindsey Folkerts had four kills and two blocks.
Clovis (Calif.) 3, Bishop Gorman 0 — At Gorman, the Cougars swept the Gaels, 25-20, 25-14, 25-17.
Gorman’s Makenzi Abelman had 18 assists, and teammate Victoria Ewalefo had nine kills. Vashti Cunningham and Abby Archambault added seven and six kills, respectively, for the Gaels.
Calvary Chapel 2-2, Mountain View 0-0 — At Mountain View, Mariah Martin had 10 assists to lead the Lions to a 25-13, 25-9 win over the Saints in the opener.
Olivia Kaiser put down six kills, and Alexis Harris added five kills for Calvary Chapel.
Harris had six kills in the second match as the Lions beat the Saints, 25-19, 25-17.
Martin had nine assists for Calvary Chapel, which got five kills apiece from Noelle Miller and Marissa Tiemann.
Aariel Armstrong had four kills, and Natalie Gomez had four aces on the day for Mountain View.
Lake Mead 2-2, Somerset Academy 0-0 — At Lake Mead, the hosts swept Somerset, 25-8, 25-12 and 25-16, 25-8.
Lincoln County 2-2, Agassi Prep 0-0 — At Agassi Prep, the Lynx swept the Stars, 25-12, 25-17 and 25-16, 25-12.
Sandy Valley 3, Baker (Calif.) 2 — At Sandy Valley, the Sidewinders edged the Braves, 25-16, 25-20, 17-25, 19-25, 15-9.
