Bailey Bright, Bishop Manogue: After suffering a broken hand at the season-opening Reno Tournament of Champions, he returned in time to win the Division I state and Northern Region titles at 126 pounds. Bright finished 15-2 as a senior.

Israel Casarez, Reed: The junior won the Division I state and Northern Region titles at 138 pounds and went 39-5 overall. He was first at the Joe Rios Memorial Tournament (Calif.), the Cody Louk Invitational and the Spring Creek Kiwanis Invitational.

Dawson Downing, Arbor View: The sophomore claimed the Division I state title at 132 pounds in thrilling fashion and finished with a 40-5 record. He finished first at the Adrian Amaral Memorial Tournament (Calif.) and was second at the Mile High Wrestling Challenge (Ariz.).

Nathaniel Garcia, Cimarron-Memorial: The Division I state champion at 195 pounds, Garcia was named most outstanding wrestler at the Pat Kenny Invitational (Ariz.), the Peoria (Ariz.) Invitational and the Pine View Invitational (Utah). He finished with a 53-2 record.

Sam Goings, Churchill County: The senior won the Division I-A state and Northern Region titles at 170 pounds while going 52-3. He was first at the Spring Creek Kiwanis Invitational and the Pine View Invitational (Utah) and is drawing interest from several Division I schools.

Joey Mazzara, Bishop Gorman: The talented sophomore went 39-1 and won the Division I state and Sunset Region titles at 170 pounds. Mazzara also finished first at the Desert Storm Classic (Utah), the Battle for the Belt (Calif.) and the Pine View Invitational (Utah).

Jeff Oakes, Battle Mountain: The senior rolled to the Division III/IV state title at 195 pounds and went 45-2. A three-time state champion, Oakes won the Reno Tournament of Champions at 182 pounds and will compete next season at Colorado State-Pueblo.

Adrian Ojeda, Green Valley: The senior missed the majority of the season but proved to be one of the state’s best, winning the Division I state and Sunrise Region titles at 152 pounds. A two-time state champion, Ojeda pinned two of his three opponents at state.

Mervyn Penniston-John, Clark: The senior recorded three consecutive pins to capture the Division I-A state title at 285 pounds. He was first at the Las Vegas Holiday Classic and the Newbury Park (Calif.) Invitational and finished the season with a 39-2 record.

Joshua Pine, Palo Verde: The 160-pounder, who suffered a serious neck injury as a sophomore, capped his career by winning the Division I state and Sunset Region titles. Pine took first at Cimarron-Memorial’s Spartan Invitational and went 49-5 with 39 pins as a senior.

Damon Ramos, McQueen: A two-time Division I state champion at 285 pounds, Ramos was 50-4 with 37 pins as a senior. He took first at the Asics Southern California Challenge and the Lou Bronzan Invitational (Calif.) and placed in the top three at three other tournaments.

Robert Razo, Green Valley: The Division I state and Sunrise Region champion at 182 pounds, Razo had a 56-6 record as a senior. He was third at the Pine View Invitational (Utah), fourth at the Reno Tournament of Champions, and seventh at the Battle for the Belt (Calif.).

Antonio Saldate, Las Vegas: The sophomore finished 51-3 with 31 pins and captured the Division I state and Sunrise Region titles at 113 pounds. He also won the Pine View Invitational (Utah) and was third in the Las Vegas Holiday Classic.

Ty Smith, Virgin Valley: The Division I-A state champion at 106 pounds was 53-0 as a sophomore and was named outstanding wrestler at the Desert Storm Classic (Utah), the Pine View Invitational (Utah) and Spring Creek Kiwanis Invitational.

Ian Timmins, Wooster: The former Cadet Greco-Roman national champion went 51-3 as a junior at 120 pounds and captured his third Division I state title. Timmins took first at the Sierra Nevada Classic and Tim Brown Memorial (Calif.) and was third at the prestigious Doc Buchanan Invitational (Calif.).

Trae Workman, Churchill County: The senior pinned all three of his opponents en route to the Division I-A state title at 160 pounds. He won the Pine View Invitational (Utah), the Spring Creek Kiwanis Invitational and the I-A Northern Region title and compiled a 55-3 record.

Elias Aguilar, Bonanza: The junior bounced back from a loss in the Division I Sunset Region tournament to claim the Division I state title at 220 pounds.

Santi Bent, Bishop Gorman: Despite missing the start of his senior season with a knee injury, Bent was the Division I Sunset Region champion and state runner-up at 126 pounds.

Andrew Berreyesa, Reno: The Division I Northern Region champion and the state runner-up at 170 pounds, he went 52-3 and finished first at five tournaments as a senior.

Blake Boswell, Spanish Springs: The senior pinned all seven of his opponents en route to the Division I state and Northern Region titles at 145 pounds and finished 38-11 with 32 pins.

Mason Campbell, Bishop Gorman: The junior claimed the Desert Storm Classic (Utah) and Division I Sunset Region titles and also was the state runner-up at 132 pounds.

Peter Enos, Faith Lutheran: The sophomore was the Division I-A state and Southern Region champion at 132 pounds. He went 43-7 and also won the Peoria Invitational (Ariz.).

Alex Espinosa, Arbor View: The Division I Sunset Region champion and state runner-up at 220 pounds, he finished his senior season with a 39-7 record.

Luis Lopez, Western: The senior earned his second consecutive Division I-A state championship at 145 pounds and also finished fifth at the Las Vegas Holiday Classic.

Francisco Martinez, Shadow Ridge: The Division I state and Sunset Region champion at 106 pounds, Martinez also was first at the Bulldog Grappler and went 51-14 as a senior.

Sean McCormick, Churchill County: The freshman swept the Division I-A state and Northern Region titles at 138 pounds and won four tournaments during the season while going 42-4.

Ryan Pierce, Centennial: The senior went 39-12 and led the Bulldogs with 28 pins. He won the Division I Sunset Region title and was the state runner-up at 113 pounds.

Jacob Ruiz, Spanish Springs: The sophomore won the Division I Northern Region title and was third at state at 113 pounds. He placed in the top four at four other tournaments and went 45-13.

Victor Torres-Parra, Del Sol: The junior went 35-3 and was first at the Division I-A state tournament at 182 pounds, becoming the first wrestler from the school to win a state title.

Anthony Valenti, Green Valley: After missing the first month of the season, the junior won the Division I Sunrise Region title and was the state runner-up at 285 pounds. He finished 18-4.

Alika Villiatora, Shadow Ridge: The 120-pound junior went 56-10 and finished first at the Division I Sunset Region tournament, the Bulldog Grappler and Pine View Invitational (Utah).

Jon Ferry, Green Valley: The 12th-year coach has built the Gators into the state’s preeminent Division I program. Green Valley claimed its fifth straight state title, producing two individual state champions and five other top-four finishers. The Gators also won their sixth consecutive Sunrise Region title.

Jeff Oakes, Battle Mountain

The senior rolled to the Division III/IV state title at 195 pounds and went 45-2. A three-time state champion, Oakes won the Reno Tournament of Champions at 182 pounds and will compete next season at Colorado State-Pueblo.

A two-time Division I state champion at 285 pounds, Ramos was 50-4 with 37 pins as a senior. He took first at the Asics Southern California Challenge and the Lou Bronzan Invitational (Calif.) and placed in the top three at three other tournaments.

Robert Razo, Green Valley

The Division I state and Sunrise Region champion at 182 pounds, Razo had a 56-6 record as a senior. He was third at the Pine View Invitational (Utah), fourth at the Reno Tournament of Champions, and seventh at the Battle for the Belt (Calif.).

Antonio Saldate, Las Vegas

The sophomore finished 51-3 with 31 pins and captured the Division I state and Sunrise Region titles at 113 pounds. He also won the Pine View Invitational (Utah) and was third in the Las Vegas Holiday Classic.

Ty Smith, Virgin Valley

The Division I-A state champion at 106 pounds was 53-0 as a sophomore and was named outstanding wrestler at the Desert Storm Classic (Utah), the Pine View Invitational (Utah) and Spring Creek Kiwanis Invitational.

Ian Timmins, Wooster

The former Cadet Greco-Roman national champion went 51-3 as a junior at 120 pounds and captured his third Division I state title. Timmins took first at the Sierra Nevada Classic and Tim Brown Memorial (Calif.) and was third at the prestigious Doc Buchanan Invitational (Calif.).

Elias Aguilar, Bonanza

The junior bounced back from a loss in the Division I Sunset Region tournament to claim the Division I state title at 220 pounds.

Santi Bent, Bishop Gorman

Despite missing the start of his senior season with a knee injury, Bent was the Division I Sunset Region champion and state runner-up at 126 pounds.

Andrew Berreyesa, Reno

The Division I Northern Region champion and the state runner-up at 170 pounds, he went 52-3 and finished first at five tournaments as a senior.

Blake Boswell, Spanish Springs

The senior pinned all seven of his opponents en route to the Division I state and Northern Region titles at 145 pounds and finished 38-11 with 32 pins.

Mason Campbell, Bishop Gorman

The junior claimed the Desert Storm Classic (Utah) and Division I Sunset Region titles and also was the state runner-up at 132 pounds.

Peter Enos, Faith Lutheran

The sophomore was the Division I-A state and Southern Region champion at 132 pounds. He went 43-7 and also won the Peoria Invitational (Ariz.).

Alex Espinosa, Arbor View

The Division I Sunset Region champion and state runner-up at 220 pounds, he finished his senior season with a 39-7 record.

Luis Lopez, Western

The senior earned his second consecutive Division I-A state championship at 145 pounds and also finished fifth at the Las Vegas Holiday Classic.

Francisco Martinez, Shadow Ridge

The Division I state and Sunset Region champion at 106 pounds, Martinez also was first at the Bulldog Grappler and went 51-14 as a senior.

Sean McCormick, Churchill County

The freshman swept the Division I-A state and Northern Region titles at 138 pounds and won four tournaments during the season while going 42-4.

Ryan Pierce, Centennial

The senior went 39-12 and led the Bulldogs with 28 pins. He won the Division I Sunset Region title and was the state runner-up at 113 pounds.

Jacob Ruiz, Spanish Springs

The sophomore won the Division I Northern Region title and was third at state at 113 pounds. He placed in the top four at four other tournaments and went 45-13.

Victor Torres-Parra, Del Sol

The junior went 35-3 and was first at the Division I-A state tournament at 182 pounds, becoming the first wrestler from the school to win a state title.

Anthony Valenti, Green Valley

After missing the first month of the season, the junior won the Division I Sunrise Region title and was the state runner-up at 285 pounds. He finished 18-4.

Alika Villiatora, Shadow Ridge

The 120-pound junior went 56-10 and finished first at the Division I Sunset Region tournament, the Bulldog Grappler and Pine View Invitational (Utah).

Coach of the Year

Jon Ferry, Green Valley

The 12th-year coach has built the Gators into the state’s preeminent Division I program. Green Valley claimed its fifth straight state title, producing two individual state champions and five other top-four finishers. The Gators also won their sixth consecutive Sunrise Region title.
