ROUNDUP: Arbor View edges Spring Valley, clinches Northwest title

Christopher Wilbert’s 10-4 decision over Tautalatasi Faulau at 195 pounds helped the Arbor View wrestling team to a 34-24 victory over host Spring Valley on Thursday.

Douglas Samora (145), Andrew Riffel (152) and Matt King (182) recorded pins for the Aggies, who clinched the Northwest League title.

Palo Verde 42, Durango 39 — At Palo Verde, the Panthers won six matches by pin to top the Trailblazers.

Brayden Lott (106), Joshua Pine (132), Nicholas Harris (138), Kyle Leet (145), William Bigelow (152) and Kayden Pierson (160) recorded pins for Palo Verde.

Daniel Caswell (113), Michael Anderson (120) and Austin Rennie (182) had pins for Durango.

Cimarron-Memorial 67, Bishop Gorman 6 — At Cimarron, the Spartans recorded five first-period pins on the way to an easy win over the Gaels.

Jesse Saavedra (113), Angel Laurente (126), Paul Hammontree (160), Logan Taylor (182), and Austin Sinyard (285) had first-period pins for Cimarron. Arram Price (145) also won by fall for the Spartans.

Coronado 48, Eldorado 24 — At Coronado, Dustin Ito won by pin in 1:26 at 152 pounds to lead the Cougars past the Sundevils.

Jonathon Blanco (126), Joshua Thomas (138), Evan Cooper (160) and Joseph Gardner (170) also won by fall for Coronado.

Jacob Torres (195) recorded a pin for Eldorado.

Green Valley 72, Canyon Springs 9 — At Green Valley, Donovan Peek (160) and David Hosey (170) each recorded first-period pins, and the Gators routed the Pioneers.

Spencer Watson (132), Richard Razo (138), Zack Perry (145), Brandon Chu (182) and Carter Nielson (285) also won by pin for Green Valley.

Fabian Leos (220) won by pin for Canyon Springs.

Las Vegas 49, Rancho 27 — At Las Vegas, Juan Arias (195) pinned his opponent in 28 seconds to lead the Wildcats over the Rams.

Jesus Reyes (126), Devin Gallegos (132), Cody Keller (138), Alex Aniciete (152), Jacob Littlefield (160) and Lahmad Evans also had pins for Las Vegas.

Francisco Robles (120), Abel Gomez (170), Brandon Flores (182) and Akram Reshad (220) had pins for Rancho.
