ROUNDUP: Santos, Rochester pace parade of pins as Grizzlies top Trojans
Rodrigo Santos and Churchill Rochester each won by pin in less than a minute Thursday to help Spring Valley’s wrestling team clinch at least a share of the Southwest League title with a 51-21 win over visiting Pahrump Valley.
Santos won by fall in 14 seconds at 152 pounds, and Rochester added a 22-second pin at 185 for the Grizzlies.
Teven Mayo (132), Jordan Conner (138), Dan Vantassel (145), Ray Waters (170) and Devin Dishari (220) also won by pin for Spring Valley.
Levi Gundacker (106) and Micah Nauck (126) each had a pin for Pahrump.
Centennial tops Arbor View
At Arbor View, Alec Gonzales, Braden Boehme and David Wilson each won by pin to help the Bulldogs down the Aggies, 38-27.
The 106-pound Gonzales won by pin in 4 minutes, 45 seconds for Centennial. Boehme (170) won by fall in 3:03, and Willson (220) added a pin in 5:29 for the Bulldogs.
John Vigil (120), London Thomas (132) and Vince Russo (160) each won by pin for Arbor View.
Eagles top Dragons, Skyhawks
At Boulder City, Tyler Bethany (145), Billy Viera (160), Brandon Foster (195) and Frankie Badgley (220) each had two first-period pins as Boulder City marched to a 71-4 win over Del Sol and a 46-24 win over Silverado.
Bethany won in 38 secnods, and Foster had a 40-second pin against Del Sol.
Viera took 50 seconds to notch a pin against Silverado.
Miners sweep Spring Mountain, Indian Springs
At Indian Springs, Bryan Garcia won two matches by pin to lead Sunrise Mountain to a 42-15 win over Spring Mountain and a 57-24 win over Indian Springs.
Garcia won by fall in 1:07 at 120 pounds against Spring Mountain, then added a pin in 2:30 at 113 against Indian Springs.
Ryan Casino (132) also won twice for the Miners, including a pin in 1:21 against Spring Mountain.
Gabe Wilson (126), Dakota Sargent (145) and Garrett Edwards (170) each posted two pins for Indian Springs, which topped Spring Mountain 36-30 in the other dual.
