Legislator targets luxury lifestyles of Hamas leaders in Qatar
While many in Gaza are desperately searching for food, water and other necessities, Hamas leaders are living lives of luxury in Qatar, according to a report in The New York Post.
U.S. Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., is sponsoring a bill that would strip Qatar of its status as a key U.S. ally, unless it kicks out the Hamas leadership, the Post reported.
Hamas — which has been designated as a terrorist organization by the United States, Canada and the European Union — runs an office in Qatar’s capital, Doha, and leaders Ismail Haniyeh, Moussa Abu Marzuk and Khaled Mashal are estimated to be worth a combined $11 billion.
