Senate committee holding hearing on business loan bill
The Senate Select Committee on Economic Growth and Employment will hold a hearing 1 p.m. Wednesday in Carson City on a bill designed to reduce rates on small-business loans.
Senate Bill 64, introduced by state Treasurer Kate Marshall, allows the state to buy up to $20 million in certificates of deposits at reduced interest rates if the bank makes reduced-rate loans to small businesses.
“SB 64 establishes a program that would create long-term assistance to businesses in Nevada as they rebound from the economic downturn over the next few years,” Marshall said.
The hearing can be seen in Las Vegas by videoconference in Room 4412 of the Sawyer Building, 555 E. Washington Ave.
