Texas deli owner closes doors to give employees ‘attitude adjustment’

A Texas deli owner decided enough was enough recently and closed his doors to teach his employees a lesson.

John Herod, who runs a Schlotzsky’s Deli and Cinnabon in Abilene, Texas, told KTRK his employees weren’t smiling and were working too slowly. So he decided to close the store temporarily to re-educate them on how to clean, prepare food and interact with customers.

Herod fired some employees, according to KHOU.

A marquee outside the store explained to potential customers the reason for the closure: “Closed for attitude adjustment,” it said. “Reopening Dec. 4.”

Herod has delayed the reopening until Dec. 9, according to the Huffington Post.
