Centennial, Liberty move on at American Legion
Centennial’s Jacob Portaro went 2-for-5 with two RBIs, and the Bulldogs rallied for six runs in the sixth inning to top Palo Verde 6-5 on Monday in the American Legion state tournament at UNLV’s Wilson Stadium. Centennial advanced to third-round play. The Panthers were eliminated.
In the late game, Nathan Bennett tossed a complete-game five-hitter to help Liberty eliminate Desert Oasis, 4-1. Ethan Ibarra went 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
