BYU uproar: Football jersey names replaced with tradition, spirit, honor
Brigham Young University football coach Bronco Mendenhall announced Thursday that BYU football jerseys would feature either “Tradition,” “Spirit” or “Honor” in the place of the players’ names.
BYU fans and rivals largely seemed to oppose the move, and even some former players spoke out on the subject. One reporter called the response “spectacular” and said he had “never seen anything like this.”
