Manning brothers get into the rap game
Peyton Manning has starred in some silly commercials (“Cut that meat! Cut that meat!”), but his latest spot for DirecTV may top them all.
In it, Manning and little bro Eli trade helmets for wigs and take to the streets of New Orleans with their backup dancers to rap – yes, rap – about DirecTV’s NFL Sunday Ticket.
The perennial NFL All-Pros, who look more like One Direction’s creepy uncles than former Super Bowl MVPs, managed to squeeze a lot of insanity into the three-minute video. From accosting a man for “using his phone as a phone,” to attempting to mate a gold football with a cell phone, to destroying a picture of Alexander Graham Bell, the Manning brothers wreak havoc in the Crescent City, all in the name of watching football on your phone.
And perhaps proving that the apples don’t fall far from the tree, Archie “Papa Bear” Manning makes a cameo, also in a wig that we’re pretty sure didn’t come from the men’s department.
