Louden leads next class into Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame

Former LPGA golfer Stephanie Louden leads a foursome of inductees to the Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame’s Class of 2014 on Oct. 10 at TPC Summerlin.

Joining Louden will be longtime amateur star Frank Acker, PGA teaching pro Mike Davis and the late John Difloure, who was a teaching pro and a former vice president of the PGA of America.

Louden, who played 11 years on the LPGA tour, was an all-state player at Cimarron-Memorial High School and was an All-American at Stanford prior to turning pro. Acker has won more than 50 amateur and senior amateur events in Southern Nevada and has been on the board of the Southern Nevada Golf Association for more than 20 years. Davis, the director of instruction for the Walters Golf Academy, was named to the top-100 teachers by Golf Magazine. Difloure, who died in 1986, will be the Hall’s first posthumous honoree, was the head pro at Las Vegas Municipal Golf Club from 1945 to 1980 and helped create several local amateur golf associations in Southern Nevada.

Tickets to the event can be obtained through the Hall’s website, LasVegasGolfHOF.com
