Proud Garrison – Jeff Mullins won 3 races with her, now is willing to lose her; slides down the claiming ladder.
Scout About – Jerry Hollendorfer adding blinkers on; key is Rafael Bejarano remains loyal after a poor finish.
Long Shot – Queen Holly
Race 2 – 6 furlongs, Purse $32,000, Maiden claiming $100,000, 2-year-olds
Princeandrew – Bob Baffert baby takes the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; like the post.
Dubai Rainbow – Ron Ellis has an uncoupled so keep an eye on him; both are dropping in class from MSW.
Long Shot – Undeniable Truth
Race 3 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $48,000, Allowance, 2-year-olds
Dream of Kaylee – If Princeandrew wins race 3, it’ll flatter him; debuted in a grade 3 stakes, then breezed in MSW.
Gato Go Win – Has kept company with some talented looking juveniles; beat Position A in last, one of his foes.
Long Shot – Position A
Race 4 – 1 mile (turf), $70,000 Blue Norther, Fillies, 2-year-olds
Internallyflawless – Short priced has proven an affinity for grass; Baffert takes the blinkers off tonight.
April Pride – Was buried last time in the Breeders’ Cup; this is a much easier spot, expect improvement.
Long Shot – Oro Blanco
Race 5 – 6 furlongs, Purse $45,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, 3-year-olds and up
No Prodigal – Just missed last time with a full bore speed effort; switches from grass back to synthetic.
Raise the River – Returned from a 14-month hiatus with a monster effort; key is will he improve or bounce.
Long Shot – Kaptain Kordough
Race 6 – 1 mile (turf), Purse $37,000, Claiming $40,000, 3-year-olds and up
Smooth and Savvy – Let’s see what 3-weeks in the Mike Mitchell barn will do for him; reunited with Bejarano.
Stormin Away – Third start off a year hiatus can be the best of what he has left; expect better from Mullins.
Long Shot – New Export
Race 7 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $48,000, Optional claiming $25,000, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Unusual Spirit – Exits the Cal Cup where he chased the chalk North Rodeo; like that Gomez picks up the reins.
North Rodeo – Was favored in this condition two back, and got smoked; she’s fast enough to be right there.
Long Shot – Ms Toomsuba
Race 8 – 1 1/8th miles (turf), $150,000 San Gabriel Handicap, 3-year-olds and up
Proudinsky – Bobby Frankel horse has underachieved; the last time he won, the Muniz, was with Gomez up.
Medici Code – Third start off an 8-month hiatus should show improvement; saves all the ground for Martin Pedroza.
Long Shot – Becrux
Race 9 – 6 furlongs, Purse $15,000, Maiden claiming $25,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Dolly Daggers – Trainer Steve Knapp likes to drop down in class and win; switches back from grass to synthetic.
No Guessing – Got a good education in debut for Kathy Walsh; she adds blinkers on and improvement is expected.
