Buccaneers, Patriots pay tribute to Las Vegas shooting victims during TNF

A moment of silence was held Thursday before the Tampa Bay Buccaneers faced the New England Patriots, an honorary gesture directed to the victims of last Sunday’s mass shooting in Las Vegas.

The team said on its official Twitter account it would ask fans in attendance to activate the flash feature on their cellphones during the moment of silence and “shine their light for the brightest city on Earth.”

An NFL spokesman said Thursday other stadium demonstrations may occur this Sunday to recognize the victims, adding he did not possess an exact list. It is unclear what the Raiders plan to do. On Monday, the organization donated $50,000 to the Las Vegas Victims’ Fund. The NFL Foundation matched the contribution and sent an additional $50,000 to American Red Cross

Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey has plans to wear custom cleats that prominently feature the iconic “Welcome to fabulous Las Vegas” sign, a team spokesman announced Thursday.
