Raiders’ 1st preseason game date, broadcast information set

Updated April 19, 2022 - 5:01 pm

The Raiders’ preseason opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Hall of Fame Game on Aug. 4 will air on KSNV-3 and feature the network’s “Sunday Night Football” announcing crew.

Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth will handle the play-by-play and color analysis duties. Melissa Stark will handle the sideline assignment.

The game in Canton, Ohio, will begin at 5 p.m. PT.

Playing in the Hall of Fame game allows the Raiders and Jaguars to start training camp a week earlier than the rest of the NFL. Just as importantly, it means playing four preseason games rather than the normal three.

That could be a big benefit for two teams that are playing under new coaching staffs this year.

First-year Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels appreciates the opportunity.

“I think there’s lots of benefits for this game for us,” McDaniels said during the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis last March. “The No. 1 thing is really to have an opportunity to be with our players and to get them in there and really try to take our time to go through the process of building our football team and foundation this summer together. Have a couple extra days to do that.”

The Jaguars are playing under new head coach Doug Pederson.
