UNLV women’s golf team takes third in season-opening tournament
The UNLV women’s golf team climbed two spots to finish third in the season-opening Col. Bill Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic at Fort Collins, Colo. UNLV shot 9-over-par 297 in the third round for a 27-over 891 total.
Texas Tech won the 17-team event at 4-under 860, with Baylor edging the Rebels for second at 887.
Mayko Chwen Wang led UNLV, shooting 1-over 73 for a 4-over 220 total to tie for 10th. Marguerite Swearinen (76) tied for 16th at 224. New Mexico’s Manon DeRoey won the individual title at 9-under 207.
