UNLV senior Dana Finkelstein was named Mountain West women’s golfer of the year for the third straight season, and teammate Harley Dubsky was named the conference’s freshman of the year, the league announced Wednesday.

Finkelstein, whose scoring average of 71.5 this season is the lowest in program history, posted two wins and six top-five finishes.

Also Wednesday, Finkelstein finished third with an even-par 216 to lead the Lady Rebels to a fourth-place finish in the Mountain West championship in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

UNLV finished 18 strokes off the lead with a 30-over-par 894, marking the program’s fourth straight top-10 conference finish and third straight top-five effort.

Finkelstein was six strokes behind New Mexico’s Manon Molle and San Diego State’s Milagros Chaves. Molle won medalist honors in a playoff.

San Diego State won the team title with an 876, marking the Aztecs’ first conference title in women’s golf.

Dubsky and UNLV sophomore Avery Frenche tied for 16th at 10-over 226, and UNLV freshman Mackenzie Raim was 23rd at 230.
