UNLV’s Matias named Mountain West men’s tennis player of week
UNLV’s Ace Matias was named Mountain West men’s tennis player of the week Wednesday after going 6-0 last week.
Matias notched three wins at No. 1 singles, all in straight sets, and three more in doubles with teammate Bernard Schoeman, helping the Rebels win all three of their matches and improve to 5-0.
■ MEN’S SWIMMING AND DIVING – After a two-week hiatus from the national rankings, UNLV returned this week at No. 25 in voting by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.
The Rebels finished the regular season at 8-1, winning eight straight meets after losing their season opener to Arizona, which is currently ranked fourth.
