UNLV’s Oda named honorable mention All-America
UNLV freshman John Oda was named honorable mention All-America by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Thursday.
Oda, who is from Honolulu, led the Rebels in scoring this season, averaging 71.11 strokes per round. He won the Sea Best Invitational in Ponte Vedra, Fla., in February and had a total of seven top-10 individual finishes. He was Mountain West freshman of the year and a member of the All-MW team.
The Rebels have had a player earn All-America recognition in 24 of the last 27 years.
