Rebels battling injuries
UNLV defensive end Preston Brooks sprained his left knee today, but the severity is unknown. Coach Mike Sanford said he should have a better idea Thursday.
Tailback C.J. Cox (hamstring) missed practice again, but no starter has been named for the Sept. 5 season opener against Sacramento State at Sam Boyd Stadium.
Offensive lineman Doug Zismann (concussion) went through a limited workout, and is expected to take part in full drills Thursday.
