Plans for Rebels’ new facility to be unveiled
A news conference to announce plans to build the Mendenhall Center, a facility for the UNLV men’s basketball program, will take place at 1:30 p.m. today on campus.
The project has been discussed since early 2008, when estimates for the cost of a basketball-only facility were forecast to be in the range of $7 million to $10 million.
UNLV president Neal Smatresk, athletic director Jim Livengood and Rebels coach Lon Kruger will speak about the facility’s details during today’s news conference at Cox Pavilion.
Also speaking at the news conference will be Terry Mendenhall on behalf of Bob Mendenhall, one of the lead donors involved in the privately funded project.
