Smith leads Lady Rebels past Hawaii
Jamie Smith scored 15 points and pulled down four rebounds as the UNLV women’s basketball team beat Hawaii 63-48 in the final game of the Wahine Invitational in Honolulu on Thursday.
Ta’Nitra Byrd added 12 points, seven rebounds and two steals for the Lady Rebels (7-7), who won their second straight game in the tournament after dropping their opener to Cal State Bakersfield on Tuesday.
UNLV trailed 28-27 at halftime but clamped down in the second half, outscoring the Rainbow Wahine (6-7), 36-20.
