LARAMIE, Wyo. -- Justyna Podziemska had 19 points and 11 rebounds Wednesday as No. 18 Wyoming handed the UNLV women's basketball team its worst Mountain West Conference loss ever, 87-39.
Sequoia Holmes, who came in averaging a conference-best 19.2 points per game, was held to six points on 3-for-15 shooting, part of a season-worst 21 percent (12-for-58) shooting night for the Lady Rebels (6-11, 2-2).
Shamela Hampton led UNLV with 10 points and five rebounds.
Aubrey Vandiver added 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Cowgirls (17-1, 5-0).
Wyoming outrebounded the Lady Rebels 52-34, had a 44-8 advantage in bench scoring and scored 24 points off turnovers.
The Cowgirls shot 48 percent, including 46 percent (12-for-26) from 3-point range.
Despite her shooting struggles, Holmes made two steals to become the Mountain West's career leader with 238, after entering the game tied with Erin Thorn, who played for Brigham Young from 1999 to 2003.
