UNLV picked to finish ninth in 10-team Mountain West Conference football race
UNLV was picked to finish ninth in the 10-team Mountain West Conference football media poll at today’s league media days at The Cosmopolitan.
Only New Mexico was picked lower than the Rebels, who went 2-10 last season. Bobby Hauck enters his third season as coach.
Boise State, which went 12-1 and won the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas over Arizona State, was the overwhelmingly choice to win the conference. The Broncos received 27 of 30 first-place votes.
Conference newcomer Fresno State, picked third. received two first-place votes, and No. 5 San Diego State was given the other one.
UNR, also new to the league, was picked second.
No UNLV players were selected to the preseason all-conference team.
