The 2016 Fiesta arrives at Friendly Ford

The 2016 Fiesta arrived at Friendly Ford about three weeks ago signaling a new line that has attracted everyone from first-time buyers to seniors wanting a reliable vehicle with excellent fuel economy.

Available engines in the 2016 Fiesta include the 1.6L four-cylinder with 121 horsepower and 112 pounds of torque; the 1.0L EcoBoost with 123 horsepower and 125 torque; and a 1.6 EcoBoost with 197 horsepower and 202 pounds of torque.

Models featured are the S sedan, SE Sedan and SE hatchback.

The latter model is available the Fiesta ST version.

The S Sedan Hatchback also is equipped with a five-speed transmission, power front disc/rear drum brakes, three-spoke steering wheel, day/night rearview mirror, driver and front-passenger sun visors with vanity mirrors and multifunctional digital display in the center stack.

The SE Sedan Hatchback includes Select S features plus ambient lighting, chrome door handles, cruise control, power windows with one-touch up/down driver's side window feature.

The Titanium package has the S features along with a voice-activated system with a free five-year Sirius subscription Traffic and Travel Link.

The Titanium model features the Interior Protection Package with black and all-whether floor mats for front, rear and cargo area protection, among others.

According to the carmaker's marketing material, the fuel mileage estimates for the standard Fiesta range from 28 city to 36 highway; and the turbo is 31 city and 43 highway.

Another popular part of the 2016 Fiesta is Sync3 touchscreen.

One Friendly Ford sales agent who is more than familiar with the Ford product is Elliott Cooper, who retired from Ford Motor Co. after 41½ years of service in Dearborn, Mich.

"The Fiesta is economical price-wise and its gas mileage is unbelievable," the 68-year-old Cooper said. "In addition, the performance is very impressive and so is the craftsmanship."

During his service with Ford, Cooper worked in quality control in the engine plant for three years. He then went to the Ford Motor Co. glass plant where he was a supervisor and team leader of the pilot program for the UAW and Ford Management.

He ended his career as a manufacturer technician at the transmission plant in Livonia, Mich., where he ended his career at that operation.

"Ford refused to take the bailout when the market crashed and our customers appreciate that," Cooper said. "I have always been proud going to work," Cooper said. "Ford's quality is the company's No. 1 concern. There is no exception to that whatsoever. With that in mind, I feel good selling a Ford to a customer. There is nothing worse than bad car deal and we do not have to worry about that here.

"Everyone who works here needs to give 110 percent and be proud of his or her work. Selling a car and making people happy is what it's all about."

Friendly Ford has been at 660 N. Decatur Blvd. for more than 45 years. Further information is available by calling the dealership at 702-870-7221 or by visiting www.friendlyfordlv.com.
